Some thirty-four years ago I first played Elite on the ZX Spectrum. Alas, the keyboard packed in before I could finish it. A couple of years later, I got another copy of the game, this time for PC. Alas, my hand packed in - my first really bad attack of tendonitis - before I could finish it.
A little less than thirty-four minutes ago I made triple Elite. Not that this means I've finished the game - mind you I never got to find out if the original game could be finished - but at least it's closure of a sort on two antediluvian disappointments.
I suppose I should take a moment to thank the departed spirits of rather more than two and a half thousand Thargoid Scouts who gave their lives to make this possible.
Then I should probably make a start on learning how to actually do combat.
