Angle Snap on Habitat Gate Issue

I'm fairly certain this has been raised in the past, but has anyone else noticed how switching off angle snap when trying to rotate a habitat gate doesn't actually work? As in, the angle snap remains in place? Kind of annoying when I'm trying to line a gate up with my grid.
 
Haven't noticed this, but I usually place a section of barrier first, move it into position, then add the gate. I find it easier this way

I find it much easier to line the gate up first to get the barrier in line with the grid.

It would be useful if there was a function to 'snap' the gate to the building grid, but at the very least letting us turn off the angle snap would solve a lot of problems.
