Angry and Frustrated

Sometimes have to wonder that even when you are carrying no cargo, that they're just there to grief you.

Either that or YOU are the cargo they're after! They'll biomass you down into carbon, and sell it on the markets!

I had the same experience as OP ended up running her off three times only to have her appear behind me in SC at 100%. They either need to make the persistent or have them high waking count as victory and remove tge spawn trigger.

My personal 'favorite' feature is when constantly interdicted on a mission by the 'same' NPC and they have the same ship but the weapons and loadouts are different almost every time! Love that immersion...

Well, in the three seconds it takes them to start the next interdiction they have time to drop into a local station and fix their hull and re-stock, so they may as well change their layout while they are at it :)
.
I'm firmly in the "I Hate Chain Interdictions!" club too.

The problem that bugs the hell out of me is its not just mission NPC's who are interdiction crazy, its all of them if you have engineering mats that take up cargo space. I was getting non stop interdiction's with no open missions or bounties, all because of the 4 modular terminals I had on me :(

NPC's are lonely, they interdict you for a bit of companionship....NPC's need love.
Talking of mines...why is it with some Condies you can mine them down to 11% and it doesn't matter how many more they hit they do not drop any more? you have to resort to Beams and multicannons to finish them off.

I am angry and frustrated by the non-persistent NPCs.

Firstly I was interdicted within 2 seconds of entering the system by an Elite mission generated NPC in an Anaconda while I was carrying mission cargo. So I immediately submitted and then high waked out to another system and I waited there until my shields recharged and just before they did I saw that he had followed me so I dropped down out of supercruise and selected my mission system and waited for him. As soon as he dropped down I high waked out to my target system but he caught up with me and interdicted me again but this time I was really close to the station I wanted so again I submitted and this time I attacked him and I won the battle because when he jumped out as the police arrived he was down to 37% hull while I was down to 90%. Because I was so close I decided to not wait for my shields to recharge and jumped back to supercruise. I was immediately interdicted again by the same NPC only now he is back to 100% hull and full shields so I submit BUT the computer does not recognise I have submitted and so I have the long wait before I can then high wake out to a different system. By the time I jump I am down to 75% hull. The second I arrive in the new system I am interdicted again by a random NPC for my cargo and again I try to submit but again the system does not recognise it and this time I can't jump because of a malfunctioning FSD. So I dump all my cargo and the NPC replies with a statement something like 'good choice' but then he continues to destroy me before I can reset my FSD.

I don't have a problem with mission generated NPCs but I am sick and tired of NPCs who can magically interdict you and who can magically repair themselves.

This can be construed as a gameplay bug, so report it as a bug. You have already described the chain of events here, so copy/paste will probably do. While I'm sure FD are fully aware of this, that will put it on their agenda.
They might not prioritise fixing it right away, but it might push it up on the priority list for later. Either way, I can't see it doing any harm.

+1 OP. The magically healing interdictor NPCs are a problem if they're stronger than you, and a continual annoyance if you don't destroy them. Once you deliver your mission cargo/data, they disappear - although there are reports of NPCs that continue to hound you even after the mission is completed.

And hi-waking doesn't help vs mission-generated NPCs. They'll re-spawn whenever you jump back into the destination system. And yes, it is a very poorly thought out mechanic.

re: mines and NPC AI

Mines will be useless if they're too easy to avoid. Theoretically, they should be hidden until you enter their proximity to cause them to explode. Otherwise, they make no sense anyway unless they act more like homing missiles/torpedoes as anyone with a pulse would logically steer around them.

This game is UNPLAYABLE atm, at least for me, a casual player who loved it. If taking lower or same rank missions means ship destruction (I' m entrepreneur) so often then nope, not worth wasting time FD. Challenge yes, but no more fun here.

Last time took a bunch of lower\same rank delivery data + a couple of goods deliveries (lower rank missions). One jump missions. Got interdicted, started spinning like a super fast neutron star, tried to run away, but of course the NPC was like an angry god , and in a matter of seconds my Fsd was malfunctioning and my hull left at 8%. At that point you decide to not waste time with the Hyper and use the faster jump, but once in Super didn't even have time to jump to another system...interdiction and adios ship. All this in solo of course. This happened many times in similar situations, so nope, I'm not going to waste credits because whatever reason may play bad roles here.

Depending on missions times (if I have time to play with the NPC), I'll usually submit, stay and fight. However what gets me is the demand for cargo when I either have none or literally have sh*t (biowaste) for cargo. And then adding insult to injury, submitting to the shun and I STILL take damage and have to wait out the prolonged cool down timer. That's a new thing that I'd not experienced before recent. Submitting and still taking damage as though I hadn't submitted.

Yeah, I agree. I have fee gripes in my early experiences but this has happened once or twice and it can be annoying.

Sarah is aware of the problems her minions currently have "dealing" with mines. I expect she'll improve their training in the next update. O-o

This is bad, really bad.

If she fixes the AI inability to deal with mines but leaves the rest of the bugs the traders won't last 2 seconds against higher ranked NPCs

My Type 9 gets its shields ripped almost straight away by deadly vultures. The only things that save me are my mines.

I hope Sarah fixes the rest of the AI issues before fixing their inability to deal with mines.

Don't break it even more!

My sentiments too.

This ^.

This should be the last NPC issue to ever be addressed as if fixed first will make this game unplayable for alot of traders.

Mines are the only reason I'm gaining any Elite combat status anyway - and I don't feel right about it because it doesn't mean I'm any good at combat. But I do find them very helpful in my explorer-oriented ships, even at the loss of some jump distance, since I'm still doing missions in the bubble.

I was interdicted by an FDL who jumped away when he was at 41% hull then upon returning to sc I was interdicted by the same ship again which did actually still have the damage from before.
That's interesting. It suggests that the feature is present but very broken (or highly contextual) rather than missing. I don't suppose you can remember whether this was a mission-specific NPC or a random spawn?

That is interesting. Do you remember if it was a mission generated NPC? If it was a mission NPC you would have gotten a message warning you about him while you were doing a mission.
