Animal Aging and Breeding Questions

When do animals become adults in this game? The baby lion from the campaign mode zoo is 2.5 years old and still looks like a cub. Do they switch models when they reach sexual maturity (which is noted in the zoopedia for each animal)?

Also, what is the purpose of the tab with the family tree on it (I can't remember its name)? It doesn't actually list the family tree, it just gives me a timeline, and all that tells me is how old the animal is.

Yeah, I'm curious about the stud book too. It must be bugged or not in the game right now. All of my baby animals say they come from the wild when they were obviously bred in the zoo. It's really hard to know which animals to trade to avoid inbreeding when you can't see family relationships.

Hopefully, one of the devs can clear this up. If not, it might require a bug report.

Im finding that my animals born in the zoo, dont mature. They age, but they are staying young. They wont breed, and even if they are well above the age to release, the release to wild button says they are juveniles.
The park Im working on, I have 3 habitats. Ringed Tail Lemur, Grizzly, and Mandrill. All 3 have had a set of babies.
I didnt start to notice the age and maturity until my female grizzly died of old age, but her cub, which was 8 at her ToD, was still being considered "juvenile". So, it wont breed, or have the ability to be released into the wild. Same goes for my other two habitats.

The age thing is a new bug since the 1.3 update. And they've messed up the breeding by lowering the chances far too much to the point where if they had Rabbits they would breed once every 5 years. And they breed really easily in real life.

Look at your Zoopedia and it will tell you what age the animals reach sexual maturity which is when they will finally grow up. For Lions I think it's 3-4 years maybe.

That timeline thing is just to tell you how old your animal is.
