Animal and Guest Food Issue (please consider a rebalance)

I just build up my second zoo carefully to figure out why i suddelny ran into the minus so heavyly on my mainzoo.
(That is fixed now mostly, but still i don't think its working like it should atm.)

On a good running zoo we should be able to give our animals the best food.
And considering the numbers the game tells us for the price per feed that should work.
But it doesn't.
I have 6 habitats and set up the price from Grade 2 to Grade 3...
now see what happened with my food costs

I maybe hat a couple of cups in that time, but by no meaning is a 100% jump in food cost possible.
I didn't changed anything else.

Also, the behavior of guests is kind of borked.
Once you get 1000+ guests and they start to demand food and drinks, you build shops...
and thats killing your profit as well.

I had a brimming zoo with good-visitied habitats (high appeal animals like gorillas and elephants), kept clean by 2 caretakers.

Now... the middle path is 10 m wide.
The hordes are sieging the shops, no matter how many more i build.
I have 4 caretakers now, 2 only care for litter, and i have constanty a litter alarm.

The guests only consume food and drinks and don't care anymore for the habitats.
Therefore they don't put money in the donation boxes, which are my main source of income.
The shops don't even seem to make up for the costs they are causing.
It is fine that the guests only come for food and drinks and are happy, but i am going brankrupt that way.

If i turn the food back to Grade 2 and let my guests be unhappy, i can make profit again i guess,
but that is not how its ment to be and is quite frustrating.

have you tried spreading the shops around instead of keeping all in same place then the visitors would have to go to different areas of the zoo instead of congrigating in one place they may even stop to look at animals also do the same with ATM's so they can get easy money and bins for the rubbish you could try that from what i get from real life most zoos spread food stalls or cafes around the zoo not in one place. you could give it a try see what happens hope the idea helps if not hope you find the answer.

I do that in my mainzoo, which is huge enough for that.
That works half-way albeit the greed of those suckers is un🐻able there too.

What you see on the screenshot it everything that is there.
The main path, 6 habitars around it.
I have 10 shops on the whole length of the wide part, atms at the full length also.

Spreading is one thing, but visitors should come first for the animals and not for the shops, we are not running a commercial center 🤣

Shops are there to help visitors stay longer in big zoo, not to become the main goal once they exist...

As soon as you open shops, they swarm them like piranhas.
Not saying its completly broken, but it needs work.

The appeal of animals should do the guest-pull, not the food shops.

What concerns me more is the food cost thing.

Yes my first zoo was doing fine and ended up bankrupted because food costs exploded and nothing I did could get it under control (downgraded food to level 1, reducing animal populations...)

I have replaced some shops, and it while it spreaded out the piranhas, it didn't solved the problem.

It was as if someone put raw meat in front of a zombie horde, they ran all the way down to the new shops.
Buti still can't handle the litter, despite the fact i have more trashcans than i can count and now 6 caretakers for that little zoo.

Also they still only care for food and drink.

I mean the zoo got a 4 star rating, maybe i should go the stock market^^

I was making very good profit with mine... well until i suddenly made 30-40 minus a year.
I could save mine, at least i think so, this morning, but i can tell you there are a few unemployed zoonpcs now.
And expansion projects died very fast.
I hope i stabilized it somewhat... and i hope the next patch adresses it.

The next three years food costs (i just watch it running, not tinkering with the animals, population is stable).

66.456
82.402
55.994

This is complete random.

The next 3 years on the same zoo.
food costs only, no animal removed, 2 new gorilla babies born.
(also no food enrichtments installed or anything else toched but the pause button.
the zoo is running stable without any interacting from my side atm)

92.350
65.254
74.500

I will stop posting those, i just hope someone reads it and this crap will get fixed.
To see this complete RNG is really disheartening.

I expect a lot of the variuation comes from how keeprs dont' keep to much of a proper schedule so they feed more or less in one year to the next, plus bugs with animals not always eating means food consumed will vary. The big concern is when there are HUGE variations in food.

I still couldn't bring it over me to delete it... i spent all day to research all the mechanical crap again to have a secondary station out there...
but it is meaningless.

The food issue is gamebreaking.

-The visitors are still not balanced and are causing throught their greed and vandalism more costs (due employees you need to hire to fix their crap) than they generate
income. I have 6 habitats and 23 shops spread out and i am still not fullfilling the needs for drink and food.
Everything is broken, despite the fact i have way more employees than i can afford.
Specialices the mechanics and caretakers partially for litter and vandalism, forget it.
Security cams everywhere, guards, forget it too.

-The animalfoodissue makes it impossible to keep the animal rating up to 5 stars without going in the minus.
Without a top rank in animal rating the visitors won't donate anymore enough to cover the randomly jumping prises.

This direly needs balancing.

I don't even dare to log into my big zoo.
