Animal duos, what's next?

Frontier has given us many animal tandems/duos (or whatever you want to call them) which are either different subspecies or similar types of animals:
  • Aldabra giant tortoise / Galapagos giant tortoise
  • African buffalo / wild water buffalo
  • African elephant / Indian elephant
  • Bactrian camel / dromedary
  • Baird's tapir / Malayan tapir
  • Bengal tiger / Siberian tiger
  • Bonobo / chimpanzee
  • Black wildebeest / blue wildebeest
  • Common hippopotamus / pigmy hippopotamus
  • Common warthog / red river hog
  • Dall sheep / Alpine ibex
  • Dwarf caiman / spectacled caiman
  • Fallow deer / red deer
  • Fennec fox / Arctic fox / red fox
  • Gemsbok / scimitar horned oryx
  • Giant otter / Asian small clawed otter
  • Grizzly brown bear / Himalayan brown bear
  • Indian rhinoceros / southern white rhinoceros / black rhinoceros
  • King penguin / African penguin
  • Przewalski's horse / Somali wild ass
  • Ring-tailed lemur / red ruffed lemur / black and white ruffed lemur
  • Siamang / lar gibbon
  • Spotted hyena / stripped hyena
  • Springbok / Thomson's gazelle / dama gazelle
  • Timberwolf / Arctic wolf / dingo / dhole
  • Nile monitor / Asian water monitor
I put in bold the partners that were added in DLCs or anniversaries. I know many people just want complete new animals, but we can see that Frontier usually adds these kinds of animals too, so what duo would you like to see next?

I would like to see:
  • American bison / European bison
  • Formosan black bear / American black bear
  • Saltwater crocodile / Nile crocodile

My personal hopes:

Red Kangaroo/Grey Kangaroo - Iconic, popular and recognizable animal that is a zoo staple. It would be nice to have one more for variety
Reticulated Giraffe/Masai Giraffe - Iconic, popular and recognizable animal that is a zoo staple. It would be nice to have one more for variety

Less wanted by me but could still be happy with:
West African Lion/Asiatic Lion (I would put them in the top tier if not for the whole "not a subspecies but a sub-sub-species" debate)
Plains Zebra/Grevy's Zebra - Iconic, popular and recognizable animal that is a zoo staple. It would be nice to have one more for variety but not a personal priority.
Formosan Black Bear/American Black Bear
Greater Flamingo/American Flamingo - conic, popular and recognizable animal that is a zoo staple. It would be nice to have one more for variety but not a personal priority.
Three Toed Sloth/Two Toed Sloth
Salt Water Crocodile/Nile Crocodile
American Bison/Wisent
Amur Leopard/African Leopard
Grey Seal/Harp Seal

We already have 2 rhinos and 2 tigers so while a Black Rhino or Sumatran Tiger wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, for me, they're also pretty low priority. Don't get me started on the African Antelopes.

Great idea.

Here's what I'd like (bold is what I added):

  • Sulawesi babirusa/common warthog/red river hog/wild boar
  • Greater flamingo/American flamingo - you can thank @FoxyDee for making me want a 2nd flamingo
  • Przewalski wild horse/common zebra/Somali wild donkey
  • Formosan black bear/American black bear - bonus points if they rename Formosan black bear into the Asian black bear
  • Timber wolf/Eurasian wolf - bonus points if they rename the timber wolf into the proper northwest wolf
  • Red fox/Arctic fox/gray fox

Chilean flamingo as a pair with the greater flamingo, as a simple choice.

The green peafowl or, perhaps less obvious, the ocellated turkey as a pair with the Indian peafowl. The turkey shares a lot of behaviours with the peafowl, with most of the differences being cosmetic changes to the head and the body proportions (although the changes between an ocellated turkey and Indian peafowl would be nowhere near the amount of changes between, say, the white and Indian rhinoceroses).

Duos like Warthog, RRH, Babirusa and Wild Boar are fine, behavior is less important than looks, duos like Leopard from country 1, and Leopard from country two is wrong for me, they look AND behave pretty much the same

The ones i want

Ostrich/Emu/Cassowary/RHEA
Red crowned crane/GREY CROWNED CRANE
Saltwater crocodile/NILE CROCODILE
European badger/HONEY BADGER
Ibex/MARKHOR
all the bears/SPECTACLED BEAR/SLOTH BEAR
White rhino/BLACK RHINO
Indian rhino/SUMATRAN RHINO
Caracal/SERVAL
Indian peafowl/GOLDEN PHEASANT
Capybara/PATAGONIAN MARA/CRESTED PORCUPINE

The ones i don't care about but i see somewhat likely:

greater flamingo/AMERICAN FLAMINGO
asiatic black bear/ABB
grizzly bear/EURASIAN BROWN BEAR
american bison/WISENT
WA lion/ASIATIC LION
japanese macaque/BARBARY MACAQUE}

Also i think grey wolf/artic wolf and dingo/dhole should be separated as two different duos as they mirror each other better than the four together.

This may just be me and my own point of view, but the Capybara shares very little in common with the crested Porcupine, other than both being rodents. If anything, I'd probably put it closer to being like the Beaver, and even then, that's a stretch.

  • Nile monitor / Asian water monitor
Those are the only clones/duos I dislike in the game, the others are very different species, these mostly same size, looks, continent and behavior, useless clones

The ones I would keep are: Galapagos, Siberian, Chimp, Blue Wild, Arctic, Grizzly, none, but if I have to the red ruffed, lar gib, thompsons, timber, dingo and nile. The others I never even use

For the most part, I’m not big on being species-specific at this point, would just like to see better diversity in under-represented or absent taxonomic groups in PZ:
  • Giant Tortoises/SMALL-MEDIUM TORTOISE SPECIES (Honestly a couple from different biomes would be amazing & really useful)
  • Monitor Lizards/TEGU SPECIES (a SA-native, terrestrial lizard is something we still lack in our habitats)
  • Crowned Crane/NON-ASIAN CRANE SPECIES
  • P. Horse/SHETLAND PONY (easily the most common domestic horse breed in zoos)
  • Ibex/PYGMY GOAT (one of the statistical most-common zoo animals in the world)
  • Peafowl/2ND PHEASANT SPECIES
  • Prairie Dog/MARMOT SPECIES
  • Proboscis Monkey/LANGUR SPECIES
  • Capuchin Monkey/ADDITIONAL NEW WORLD SMALL MONKEY
  • Red River Hog/PECCARY SPECIES
  • Meerkat/MONGOOSE SPECIES
  • In-game Otters/SEA OTTER (Frontier loves their carnivorans and this species is probably the most publicly well-known otter species. Additionally PZ lacks Coastal species rn and this is an easy-to-achieve and popular option)

Ones I don’t personally prioritize but feel there is a good chance of:
  • Reticulated Giraffe/ADDITIONAL GIRAFFE SUBSPECIES (The giraffe rig is unique in PZ, yet still only has one animal using it. There are very, very few PZ rigs only used once)
  • In-game Bears/SPECTACLED BEAR (PZ is far from short on bears, but Frontier clearly favors large carnivorans and this is a very popular species. Seems really likely)
  • In-game penguins/ADDITIONAL PENGUIN SPECIES (Plenty of still fairly well-known small to medium species, and adding another really feels like a Frontier kind of thing to do)
  • Caracal & Lynx/ADDITIONAL SMALL-MEDIUM CAT (Like the above mentioned bears, Frontier strongly favors their larger carnivorans. Wouldn’t surprise me at all to see an additional “small” cat enter the roster)
  • Bactrian Camel/DROMEDARY CAMEL
