Animal generator for sandbox

Yeah, it's a nightmare to add the massive shuffle for a sandbox zoo. Breeding is nigh impossible for it with aging making it worse there.

I've tried to recreate exhibits I've seen and it's a pain to deal with there.

May I bump this thread? Dear CMs, please see this. ´Building a completely new zoo since the update that made the market a mess now and it is just SO frustrating and annoying. Please, we need more control in sandbox!

Similar threads with different approaches:

If there are technical limits for making an animal creator in sandbox, please, an option to refresh the market before the timer is up would also already do wonders. Still very time consuming, but not as much as with the constant buying and reselling. Plus, if I want to manage in sandbox without supporting dwarfism in animals (really, the lower size gene animals do look weird and not realistic) I would have to spend millions of CC or dollar. Simply not possible.

To those who say they like the challenge of breeding: I do, too! But currently the market is so bad, that you'd either have to have ten different gropus of lions to reach your breeding goal, or start all over everrytime, because you simply can not find a suotable male for your freshly born female that you want to breed with later on.

Challenge should be where it belongs to - in challenge/franchise (yes, I think it should not be default in sandbox, but at least a choice in settings).

Yes, a setting please. I'd like to be variable in my sandbox zoos. In some I also buy bad animals and decide not to breed them. Though, to be fair, I always always look for size 67+

I usually let them breed and inbreed until they are unhappy, then I sell the worst ones and continue to leave them alone. It gets too tedious to check stats, matches etc. if the animal either dies soon or is too crappy for me to care.
They usually get to the point where they either stop breeding and die out (so I just buy new ones) or they actually produce good stat babies. But as I said, I would much more likely prefered to froze they age and just buy animals of age, sex, coat, stats etc. of my own choosing.

Yes, I would have only camels with 100% size genes so that they could approach their real life size 😢

I've clocked hundreds of hours in PZ and I've come across one albino animal in Sandbox mode. That's not in my current zoo but in total. I know they're meant to be rare but I could play Franchise mode and get them instantly and I just want options in the mode that's meant to allow the most freedom and let me choose what I want and don't want.

Also, I don't know if a recent patch did this but I've noticed that lately all the animals in sandbox mode have blimin awful genetics! What's that all about?
They really do have awful genetics most of the time. Same for the ones in challenge mode. It's one reason I've preferred franchise, though it can be frustrating when a particular species I want to have in my zoo is not available in the market at all, or there are just a few horrible ones because no one happens to be selling meerkat or whatever today (or this week even).

One thing that's sort of funny in franchise is how certain very rare variants become the norm--like leucistic giraffes. In reality there are just a handfull worldwide, even in zoos, but last night I wanted to get a new male giraffe with good, fresh genes, and it took me a while to find one that wasn't white.

I agree that a setting to determine the genetic parameters of animals for sale would be really nice in sandbox, though.

Just lucky, nothing has changed. At this rate I would be happy with just a tickbox for all stats to be 100% in sandbox.

It would be nice to have more opportunities to get genetically "strong" animals in Sandbox, and in challenge too. At least have really good ones pop up with some regularity that you could purchase if you have the eco credits or cash. As it is, it is very hard to breed a zoo population "up" to excellent overall genetics when you have to add in "fresh blood" with really wretched, "inbred" stats each generation.

Even in franchise mode, it can be amazingly hard to find a decent animal of the right sex and genetics at times. I had to take my female hyena "off exhibit" for a long time and keep her on ice in the trade center, because male hyenas were so few and far between in the animal trading, and when they did come up they were miserable specimens. And there weren't even any frontier zoo female orangutans last night when I was playing. Stayed up way past my bedtime hoping for one for my new South Asian rainforest habitat.
