Ok, I thought up an idea to make challenge mode and franchise a little more challenging to get rarer species: in-game fees.
For example, say you're in South America building your zoo. Local SA animals are cheaper than getting something from, say, Australia. But, maybe you have your eye on that koala and want to house them. Well, you pay the required amount on the trade center, then a secondary fee for "shipping" them to your zoo. The rarer an animal, the higher the appeal, and the further away it is, the more the fee costs.
That way, you won't immediately start with highly popular animals and it feels like you actually build up to something, you know?
Because, I miss the good old days where we first start a franchise or challenge with practically no CCs, and it was so fun to build up to get them. But now that we have them, you can kinda do whatever you want.
I dunno, maybe this won't catch on, but lemme know what y'all think
