Animals Injured as Soon as they Land?

To clarify, is anyone experiencing a problem where animals (in sandbox, not sure if it's happening in Franchise as I can't be bothered with it) are injured as soon as they appear in the zoo? It seems to be happening with nearly every animal I put in now. I added a female giant panda, and she was immediately taken away by the vet. She popped out of her box, went to the shelter, and then the vet came and took her away. When she returned, she had nasty scratches all over her nose and neck. Why? How? What am I missing?

That's because the animals you buy in sandbox can be injured or sick. When playing sandbox it's better to either turn off injury and sickness from settings or if you want a realistic experience, keep the settings but quarantine them before putting in the enclosure.

I have those settings already applied. That isn't the reason.

Do you put animals in quarantine first before you move them to a habitat? If yes, and they overcome fine from quarantine - it sounds like a bug to me.

I suppose I'll have to start doing that, but I still see it as a bug, or at least a feature not working quite properly, as like I said it's happening with just about every animal.

It should be better when you do it that way, it's the way the game explains in campain to do (for every animal)... still it's strange that it happens to nearly every animal you buy (sounds really like a bug, or really bad luck 😅🙈? I hope less animals will be injured in the future for you)... I hope it helps you. After quarantine is ready you can move them to the habitat and they shouldn't be injured as soon as they arrive.

Most animals are either injured or sick when you adopt them. Check the Source that you get the animal from, it usually mentions they were kept as a pet or the like which increases the likelyhood of them being badly treated in their old home. It's to simulate that you don't adopt blank slates basically, so not a bug. The fastest way to get them healthy is - as Crea_TivELA said - to put them in quarantine first where they will be checked out and treated quickly so they don't f.e. infect anyone in the main enclosure.

My problem isn't illnesses, it's injuries. I don't get any illnesses at all because I have it turned off. Injuries are just annoying, though. I have started using the quarantine.
