Greetings Fellow Ropleplayers
Currently, there is no in game global chat. You simply do not know who is online, and you cannot chat to other players unless you are in the same system.
So, to circumvent this, we've created an IRC chat channel available for you to use. This will be an OOC channel really for social and in game coordination. There is also an IC channel for those who wish to chat IC.
The idea here is you log into this when you're in game and have it running on your second monitor, or alt tab if you don't. We will be posting details of in game overlay later.
Connection Instructions - Couldn't be any easier.
1. Open browser and go to http://chat.eliteandreal.com
2. Type in your character name.
3. Type in the channel name #eliteRP
4. Click Join Chat
And that's it.
To join the IC Channel as well, click on the link #eliteRP_IC in the welcome message and you will be able to switch between the two.

Advanced Users : If you'd prefer to connect via an IRC client, the channel is hosted on the Quakenet server.
Update : How to have the channel visible in the game as an overlay so you don't need to alt tab.
