General / Off-Topic Annoyance Law - UK

Shrug, the problem with UK law is the lawyers. Gone are the days when the law was applied in a common sense manner and the result was accepted and abided by. With every legal-beagle looking to make a name or a wad of cash, every legal decision is dissected and re-interpreted to achieve whatever outcome is desired. Hence we end up with daft proposals like this, attempting to couch laws in so much generality that it can never be used "incorrectly" thus leading to an aquittal. The flip side is that it will be applied to the most ludicrous situations because it can be.

We need to get back to the (very simple) idea of parents actually doing the job that they signed up for when they decided to combine DNA - support those who are trying to make society better. I reckon the results would be amazing.

That sounds crazy enough to work! My eye was also drawn to the other story about high-visibility jackets for chickens! You couldn't make this stuff up.

hi-viz jackets for chickens a good idea. if you ever kept chickens you would know this. devious little ********.

I think high viz jackets for chickens should be an optional setting for those that want it, but should not be forced upon people who backed the kickstarter in good faith.

I'm sorry to say i find this public thread annoying, please could you all report to your nearest police station to be clapped in irons and thrown in a deep dark dungeon :p

As I get older, I find more and more things annoying. That is life. A law like this would mean I would try and prosecute everyone for everything.

"Put your bloody phone away and look where you are going!"

"Spell that properly!"

"Pull your trousers up!"

"Trainers are NOT smart footwear!"

"The bloody train is NEVER on time!"

"BUSES!"
