So, with the release of Odyssey, I'm landing on many more planets than I'm used to. I've come across an exasperating annoyance transitioning from normal space to supercruise. So, let's say I'm on a planetary body and I'm ready to move on to another system. I lock in my hyper-jump destination and lift off. I clear mass-lock and attempt to execute the hyper-jump. Uh oh... The destination is obstructed and I'm not going to be able to get a clear shot at it from normal space. SC is needed here so I transition to it, then cruise around in orbit until I get a clear shot. At that point, I tap the "jump" button aaaaand... I drop to normal space.

The first few times I thought "I must be doing something wrong" and played on. After many more instances of this occurring, I decided to deactivate my personal auto-pilot and actually watch what was going on. Turns out that going from normal space to SC changes your destination lock to the main star of the local system. Since there's no hyper-jump destination activated you drop out of supercruise. This is nearly infuriating. Have I been missing something? Has this always been this way (as designed) or is it a new annoyance? I've submitted it to the issue tracker regardless.
