Just kidding (i think) i'm trying to post something non political in off topic (which i have not done in a while). I Voted both despite a strong urge to say Trek. Damn i wish i'd voted Trek.

Nice pull.

They've both had their high and low points, but overall I guess I'm more a fan of SW, owing to my days playing the X-Wing/Tie Fighter series.

I used to watch my dad play those, he still rants on about how good they were, great for their time i must admit, my how time flies.

Battlestar Galactica!

*puts on bulletproof vest*

BSG RDM is the best sci fi drama series ever......over and out, it's my all time fave TV show after 24.

ds9?

@OP i think your thread would have needed an exclamation mark more!

obviously i voted neither ... yeah! star trek vs. star wars? they were so much behind Ralph Bakshi's LOTR...

I was called out on those exclamation marks on the last thread lol, this is the last you will see of them in my thread titles (i say that now).

I'm going with the hipster vote of neither.

Star Wars has been dead to me since the prequels, and Star Trek is so banal it makes my skin crawl.

Complete reversal in both...despised the old star trek as cheezy and not very interesting, now love the new version. Whereas loved the old star wars but find meself less enthusiastic about the new stuff. So both I suppose, though Ive loved star wars fer longer...just the older version.

I love all of both (apart from star wars prequels and star trek the motion picture 1979) i guess i'm willing to look past the cheesy parts of ST TOS even if i do find it a struggle sometimes. My heart is very much in the TNG DS9 VOY era though.

Neither.

Star Wars has always been junk "opium for the masses" unrealistic nonsense with a really bad story.

Star Trek - The Old Series was good, made back in the day when issues were taken with a modicum of seriousness and intelligence - but I'm not a fan of the premise of the United Federation of Planets.

Voted Star Wars. It has its problems (*cough* 1 - 3 *cough*, although #3 is a somewhat guilty pleasure) but means a lot more to me than Star Trek.

Star Trek may actually be objectively better in a bunch of ways but I never really connected with it.

The only thing I really, really like about Star Trek, is the design of the Enterprise. It's iconic. It looks like a plausible design, IF we had the technology available to make that design viable.

Which Enterprise design do you think looks more plausible? I know they are the same basic design, but there are visible differences between the Enterprise A (original and reboot) Enterprise D (The Next Generation) and Enterprise E (First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis). i personally consider the E to be the best looking ship in Science fiction, and perhaps more plausible than the other two because of it's modern feel, but that's just my take.
