Another 'docking request denied' post

Hello All,
Like most here I've been enthralled with the game, truly a dream come true from the standpoint of anyone wanting to explore deep space from their living room.
I'm a newbie having been immersed only for the last 2 weeks or so. And so far my humble beginnings have been mildly rewarded with 24,000 CR, even with a Sidewinder.
The problem today however is 'DOCKING REQUEST DENIED', and not at an outpost station but at Bluford Orbital and then at Lawson Orbital. I'm so far playing in Solo mode.
I've docked the Sidewinder at least a dozen times since beginning so I know the drill in terms of distance and proximity. I tried switching from solo to open play mode and back again, docking denied in both.
I'm not 'wanted' and haven't been around long enough to even shoot at anyone yet, can anyone suggest a fix? Is this a bug ? I realy love the game and this issue is the first 'fun interrupter' I've experienced.
I haven't yet tried to turn the Xbox One off and then on, I did try logging out of the game several times.

It's still an issue, even over on PC. It's so bad now I've given up until FDev get around to fixing it...not much point in shifting cargo if the AI are so bugged they drunkenly can't get off the platforms. For some reason, it seems worse since the patch.

It's a bug. Docking request is not really denied, it's just the text appearing on the panel for some reason. If you're within 7500m you can request docking permission and you'll get it without problems. At least this is my experience. I was baffled by the "denied" text at first as well but now I just ignore it. One of the many bugs in 3.3.

Docking request is usually denied because of NPC's not lifting off the pads...they seem to take off then just flop back down with their engines running.

Update. After numerous tries last night I gave up, turmed the XBO off and went to sleep. A couple hours ago I logged, picked up where I left off ( well sort of, before I gave up trying to get into Blueford Orbital I took a 'quick' hop to Lawson Orbital and couldn't get in there either! THEN I logged off went to bed).
Anyway it does appear to be a 'bug' of some kind, am guessing if they haven't been able to sort it out yet maybe it isn't sortable. Having said that I made a few extra bucks on the journey back to Blueford and am ready to make a bit more cash. Is there anything I can buy for a Sidewinder that would make it combat effective ? Or am I best running data errands until I have enough CR's to get into a better ship ?
I

I have many occasions where as a ship (NPC) will lift off and then crash back on to the pad and never leave; When I re-log, it's fine. However, my home station is Jameson Memorial and there a ship I think it's an ASP that gets blown up when it parks near the exit every 2 to three minutes. I've sat on the pad and watched it numerous times. On occasion, a beluga will attempt to push it, but to no avail. Not a game breaker but if one doesn't know and waits behind it, gets scary when the station blows it up right in front of ya.

I just started getting this. Also, my local haz res is barren, as in not a single NPC ship in there, and the Frontier store isn't working. Triple whammy.

Welcome CMDR ElectricFactory to the world (galaxy) of Elite Dangerous. Please do stick with us despite the oft occurring and oft fixed bugs as the game/sim is well worth it... as you are probably finding out. I remember when I was a fresh Commander and wish I could turn the clock back to those wide eyed heady days!

P.s. Funnily enough I have NEVER experienced this bug....and hopefully never will.... probably will now I've mentioned it!! :D

This should never be an issue at stations. Also, I'm not talking about this. I'm talking about opening the Contacts panel and the "Docking request denied" message being already there, even before requesting to dock. Despite this, docking request is always granted so it's just a cosmetic bug.

First, thanks for the welcome and 'yes', I'm absolutely sticking with it. In truth it's been years since I was so engrossed in a computer game, which i'm sure is due to the enormous depth and width of both the eD galaxy and wildly complex game mechanics. I love it.

That said there are a couple of areas of improvement I'd like to see in the next update, several of which are docking request denied related. It can't be part of the game design to force players to quit out and reload the game simply to land on a pad after a completing a mission. Even worse to compromise or lose the mission entirely. I can't believe the designers intended this and I wish they'd fix it. I agree with others that a queue system would be another way to organize the docking pads in a way that's both realistic and game integral.

Another thing- it's entirely too difficult to find common modules if you're not in/ near a system which already has those modules. As an example; I'm in the LHS 3447/ Inner Spur area but there are many systems bordering it and I've been to most of them. I can't find a common 5E or 6E cargo module in any station in or near my system or any system within 25Ly in any direction. I realize this isn't a terribly great distance but there are dozens of stations, outposts etc none of which seem to have any inventory of cargo module. Cargo modules ? Does this seem realistic within the context of the game ? I'm trading so this is a bit confusing, if not annoying.

An aside, have you encountered the 'zombie ships' hovering in place in stations ( presumably to crash into you) as you're preparing to leave it ? They're just hovering in various positions, waiting.. as soon as I move they move.. and all at the same time, all of us vying for the mail slot exit! I ended up mildly crashing into one of them the first time this happened, fortunately nothing fatal.

Station selling the 5E Cargo rack;

Fairbairn Station
Dalton Gateway
Yaping Enterprise
Worlidge Terminal
Lawson Orbital
Trevithick Dock
Leinster Survey
Bluford Orbital

all in LHS 3447, if the station has none, which is possible, then try either later or another station. If none of the stations in the system have the rack then try the stations in Eravate.

The above information was obtained from: https://eddb.io/station simply enter the module you're looking for and the reference system (the system you are in now) and click the 'Find Stations' button.

EditL: Searching for the 6e Cargo Rack produces the same results as above... so if you're not finding either the 5e or 6e racks then it seems odd, very odd.

Thanks for this, the fact is I've been to all of them., some three times or more in doing delivery missions. All of them are listed as having the module, none of them do, not a one.

Have you considered jumping to a different system altogether. The stations you mentioned are in LHS 3447 right??

Have you tried jumping to Ervate or a system nearby thats in range of your FSD??

Thanks, should've posted soonwer, as is almost always the case it was a stupid noob mistake, have found all of the modules I've been looking for

As I look at that original post I have to laugh, I've learned so much about playing this game, literally something new every day! This of course has produced predictable results- multi-ships in the hangar ( considering buying a Python tomorrow as a trader), multi system permits earned, FED rank earned, millions cr in discovery data and multi-millions cr in the bank account. Am having a blast and I've really only scratched the surface in terms of playing styles, missions taken and discoveries made. Am planning a trip to Sol next week and then who knows

Hello, all.
Late to the party, ...and pretty new commander here.

My two cents.
I have come across the "access denied" on a couple of occasions. One at an outpost and the other a full fledge station. At the outpost it was NPC taking their sweet time leaving the pad. The station denied my numerous requests (I was well within the 7.5 mark) ...and I began to panic (as I was hauling for a mission that was to pay over 600k).
After a while of me checking my mission parameters again and again... then my systems, cargo, etc.
I had mistakenly turned on my ship lights at some point during the trip. I turned them off then reset request.
"Access Granted"
I don't know if this is a bug or the station didn't like the high beams shining in their eyes. 😁
