Hello commanders!

After reading this thread from Dweezil_Moon, I decided to create my own tool for reading the galnet news. I just did that because I wanted to have more control over the parameters (number of articles to read) and I wanted full article reading as well.

So, it's really easy to setup. I'll paste the content from my readme file included in the zip:

Prerequisites:

You need to have voice attack.
Your voice attack MUST have the option for plugins enabled.
This galnet reader uses the Luca D's "Text And XML" plugin, that can be found here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/voiceattack/VotudmB84hE

How to use:

Just import the vap file included and have fun!
If you want to change some parameters, it's easy!

How to edit:

Open a command
Open the second action -> "Set Text [VAReaderFile] ... "
Change the URL parameter:

http://viniciusmunhoz.com/galnet/?headlines=3
This will read the titles and dates for the latest 3 articles. You can change the number

http://viniciusmunhoz.com/galnet/?article=2
This will read the entire second article. You can change the number.

dam commander perfect job it reads perfectly and responses to commanders perfect

Not sure what I am doing wrong here. When I start up VA I get "Plugin support enabled" and "Plugin 'VA Text Reader 1.04' initialized...but when I say the commands all I get is "Yes commander, retrieving the latest article" then a pause and "end of transmission commander". That's it. Any thoughts as to what I haven't done right?

I'm sorry to hear that!

It looks like they changed the website a bit so my script stopped working. I just fixed it now. You don't have to download it again, the fix was server side.

This is a beautiful thing.

One request. Can you have it not put the "end transmission commander" at the end of the article text? Reason being, I'd like to add more responses and such when my ship is done, and I can't change the incoming text as it is (well, easily).

Done!

If you don't want the message "end of transmission, commander" at the end, just put another parameter on the url, eot=0, so it will look like this:

or
http://viniciusmunhoz.com/galnet/?article=2&eot=0
