A little bit shocking that frontier never has had someone in this role once they got to a certain size of developer count.. i dunno.

Also that person is going to have their life cut out for them because the largest part of that role is getting developers to all act in the same way. You cant herd cats when every cat is a different size. The actual work is, well, what every dev does at some point out of routine just full time.

It could also be that the current release engineer is going to work on a different project.
