I love dogs, have own one or two most of my life. With zero offense intended im pretty sure a determined criminal could punt kick a jack russel.

That's assuming I'm just gonna be standing there watching...all the dogs do is create a diversion but a pair of jacks won't do squat to a determined attacker. I'm not as fast on my feet as I used to be but gimme a second or two diversion...

Besides...yer seriously underestimating what jacks can do. One has been trained almost from birth to go after rats, although she has gone after bigger targets including badgers and fox. If ye think ye can "punt kick" a jack, then yer probably not aware of just how fast they are. Also, there the small part about the fact they are solid muscle and very strong for their size...to put them down, yer gonna have to kick pretty hard and if ye miss the first time, yer gonna lose some skin, I can assure ye of that. And there's two of them so while yer trying to kick one, the other is going fer the backs of yer legs.

I'm guessing ye don't know very much about hunting dogs...especially not when they trained to work together which is why they are very capable of taking down larger animals like badgers which are actually quite dangerous when cornered. Jack russells are a hunting breed, bred specifically to hunt...like little white terminators and just wait till ye see what they can do to a rat and pidgeon colony living in a derelict house...oh my ^^

True but what you forget, in case of smaller dogs there is no withholding psychological factor to prevent the attack but in case of a stronger bigger more serious looking dog?
They are going to think twice.

I will honestly admit that I have had no experience with smaller hunting breed dogs. Most of my exposure to Jack Russells have been over energetic, jumpy/yippy dogs. I had considered them to be overgrown lap dogs. I have only had larger breeds of dogs, labs, German shepherds, Pittbulls etc.
