Another (possibly) dumb question

Does the rating of your sensors have any impact on the range to planet where scanning begins? I presume everyone uses D rated stuff, but I'm wondering if A rating would significantly decrease flight time when scanning down a system?

I like going A rated but no I haven't noticed a difference in using A rate sensors. Though I do know that some of the systems do give a slight advantage when it come to heat production, I mean it creates less heat.

Yes, I'm aware of the thermal load decrease of the higher ratings, but it seems to me that bodies scan faster the closer you are to them (however, that could just be perception of time whilst staring at the screen).

A rated increases the scan range for ships (stats are on the item page) but not for planets, that's entirely dependent on the stellar mass.
