Another way to ship transfer...

Say you want a ship transferred.

> Post ship transfer on the mission board.
> a player is able to take the mission and pick up your ship and deliver it to station of your choice.
> profit
> a buddy in a multi crew ship flies delivery man back.

Why? Several benefits to a system like this

> more player interaction. Something currently lacking
> faster delivery time
> opportunity for another "business" of sorts like the Fuel rats. "Delivery rats"

Worried about exploits? Several ways to mitigate.

> rats pay a safety deposit returned upon safe delivery
> ship and parts not sell-able during delivery
> a sort of "rating system" to ensure only trustworthy people deliver ships.
> risk is a part of life. You'd have to accept that something might ultimately go wrong.

Great idea OP!

Thank God* there's no-one immature playing this game who would abuse this & take it to Colonia rather than Sol!

* Alternatively, insert other deity of the ~3000 available, safe in the knowledge that yours is the only true one & the others are made-up nonsense!

Nice idea!

The fact that it costs millions to ship my anaconda anywhere makes me want to get into the large ship shipping business.

Really, flying a conda isn't much harder than flying a sidewinder, and the ability to make over 10 million an hour just "flying" is very appealing.

That, or maybe they could reduce the ship transfer costs to something more reasonable for large ships...
