Another wishlist incoming~

Just gonna dump my wishlist here. Maybe it will lead to something :D
Hopefully someone will agree with me! (I won't add kangaroo, penguins etc. because they're probably gonna be added)

  • (Any) Lynx. I know we have a lot of cats, but we don't have any smaller cats. Since we still have very few animals that like the cold, Lynx could be a good addition
  • Siamang gibbon. We already have a variety of apes and monkeys but the Siamang is really interesting because of it's throat sac. I feel like it would be an interesting and fun addition.
  • Rabbit. Why not? They are adorable.
  • Red Fox. We have so few canines in the game, and like the Lynx, the fox could also add to the "cold temperature" roster.
  • Przewalski's Horse. Currently the only equu species we have is Zebra. I think adding another is a good idea.
  • Shoebill Stork. Since we only have Flamingo and Ostrich as birds right now, I think Shoebill Stork would be a great addition. It's endangered and cool looking. It's a very unique animal.
  • Striped Hyena. Spotted Hyena is cool, but Striped Hyena is straight up so much cooler. I would love to see it in game.
  • European Badger. We need more European animals, and the badger is a cute one!
  • Puma/Mountain Lion. This will be the first big cat that doesn't demand the african heat. Also, it's beautiful!
  • Sloth or Koala. Cmon, we need some tree hugging cuties!

The reason I like Siamangs is because of their hair part, like a young boy being dressed up by their mum.

I would think you'd be wrong about the Puma being the first that doesn't need the heat, considering there's Siberian tigers, but I don't play the game.

I agree there should be more European animals as the only ones are that I can remember of are the Timber Wolf and Polar Bear

And the reindeer, and technically the greater flamingo, but none of these is specifically a European animal. The wolf is especially annoying because the name 'timber wolf' applies to a very specific group from the American Northwest (British Columbia, Oregon, Washington, that sort of region), but the scientific name Canis lupus applies to the entire grey wolf species (including the Arctic wolf).

I've long been an advocate for specifying the timber wolf into Canis lupus lupus, i.e. the Eurasian wolf, to give us a specifically-European animal and to solve the issue of taxonomical inconsistency, but Frontier has never addressed this (and likely won't, even though in terms of changes it really would only require a few edits to the Zoopedia entry and a different location plaque - the animal model itself is perfectly fine as-is for the Eurasian wolf).

As for other European animals, my top picks are:

- Iberian lynx (critically endangered, and while not a common sight in zoos compared to the bobcat or Eurasian lynx, I think it's more valuable to the overall message of the game).
- Red fox (this one is considered a back-yard animal in Europe, sure, and a pest in other parts of the world, but they are rather iconically European).
- Fallow deer (this would make a great walkthrough animal, and if they ever get around to adding variant skins to animals there are a lot of possibilities for the fallow deer).
- Alpine ibex (the Dall sheep is great but I think we need a more iconic mountain goat, and the ibex is about as iconic as it gets).
- Scheltopusik (this would be an exhibit animal, but they are incredibly unique and an evolutionary anomaly, and in New Zealand this is as close to a snake as we can get, as snakes are not even allowed in zoos here).

Some of the others on OP's list are good, but others are pretty average. I'd love to see any kind of gibbon make it in (siamang is also my top pick but I'd take the white-cheeked gibbon), and the North American cougar would be a great animal to include. The Przewalski's horse is also a good one. I'd rather not see the striped hyena, as although they are a nice animal we do already have a hyena in-game and if resources are limited it doesn't make sense to spend them on this sort of animal. The 'rabbit' is pretty vague, the most I'd accept for that would be something akin to an interactive petting-zoo display with a Flemish giant in it or something.

I used to be wary of suggesting the Iberian lynx as it was only found in captivity in Spain and Portugal but it’s just been announced that a zoo in France is getting them so they might be about to become more common in captivity especially if the spaces for them locally are filling up as might be the case.

Yes we need more Primates 😍

These are also great. I would love to fill some small Areas with Rabbits or build a Petting Zoo with them.

The European Animals would also be great. I would really like to create a Forest with native Species behind my Main-Zoo.

The Mountain Lion would also be absolutely great and I think it is very likely that Koalas will also be included.

They look really cool. I would love them in the Game
