Another X52/pro question

Does anyone know if the elite store will be getting more in stock? Just fired up the page and they're sold out now :(

They sold out quickly. I suggest you do a search yourself for local stores/online/your local equivalent of ebay to track one down. I swear players of ED and SC are buying them all up :)

Alternatively, perhaps email Frontier and ask someone there directly. Don't hold your breath though!

I've been looking on EBay and there's a lot of stock in the USA, which is ok except I'm in Australia and I don't want to pay $50usd to ship it. Amazon has them but they don't ship to Australia for any price.

Australian stores don't seem to stock the x52 pro, only the regular one and the x55

I read somewhere the pro was not in production at the moment due to quality control issues.

If anyone knows an easy way to get the x52 pro in Australia that I may have overlooked I'm keen to hear (-:

Whats wrong with the x55? It's not that much more expensive than the x52 pro. I recently got it myself and i think its pretty nice.

I haven't used it but I've seen many reviews. I don't like the look of the joint at the base of the stick and the "sticking" that happens moving from dead centre to give just a tiny bit of roll or pitch. That's the thing most people report is a major flaw with that stick.

Now I have a real actual person to quiz, have you noticed the sticking when you just start to move the stick from dead centre? Is it noticeable and will it lead to a bad gameplay experience in ED? Is it easy to make small corrections to heading in super cruise or lining up with a target with FA off?

The x52 pro has a different joint which makes it looser, but there isn't this sticking, which is why I wanted to go for that stick.

I totally noticed that and at the beginning i was really disappointed, but i exchanged the spring to another not so strong spring (you get 4 springs to choose from) and after a bit of using it works fine now. Just like the throttle the stick basically needs some playtime to loosen up. You can also apply a bit of lubricant for that base part to make it even smoother. Saitek just warns you that you have to use lubricant that is non conductive.
Now after some playing it is good enough to make small corrections. I am using it for DCS too and its good enough to aim properly. I just wish they would have used more metal.
The only thing that bothered me is that it used to slide around on my wooden desk but i fixed that by just simply putting a mousepad under it.

Thanks for the insight, I may have to reconsider my planned purchase if I can't find an x52 pro any time soon. It's good to hear you overcame most of the problems (-:
