a) You can't expand towards us.
b) We can expand towards you.
c) In case of turmoil on our part, you can't prepare our high income shed systems.
d) In case of turmoil on your part, we can and will prepare your high income shed systems since they will be safer with us.
e) You can't undermine us.
f) We can't undermine you, but it's not our fault if 1M merits of undermining end up your way by the grinders, sorry.
g) In case of F, you are obliged to blame someone else for it.

And for Imperials only:

h) Smuggling Imperial slaves and pirating players is illegal and will be dealt with death. Except when an Imperial does it.

I've actually undermined in almost every faction's territory. As for the easy mode thing, I like to just grind it out early and get on with it. No sense getting interdicted by try-hards over and over who seem to be trying to prove nothing more than how many shield banks they can stuff in their internals. But by all means, keep role-playing the "nice" pirate that asks before he takes. Just make sure you have the appropriate paint job first, otherwise those flowery requests just won't be taken seriously.
