Anti-Aliasing: How do I improve it?

So I run a GTX 1070. I run 2x Super Sampling. I see jagged lines everywhere. I have tried all the AA settings in ED and they all look about the same.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve AA in ED? It bugs me that I can’t get the AA to look as nice on my PC as it does on my Xbox and it leads me to believe that I am doing something wrong with my GPU settings or my game settings.

Help!

(notes: I have tried my google fu hand at finding an answer, and it has proven fruitless)

Nothing. The Aliasing in this game is terrible. All you can really do is run at as high a res as you can.

If you're running at 2x SS in game + MSAA and *still* feel like the game isn't clean enough for you, nobody can help you. The game was designed with a lot of long lines and lines spaced closely together. The result will inevitably be some aliasing. You're not going to get a perfect picture.

Maybe you could also try adding AA in Nvidia Control Panel on top of the settings in game? Seems excessive and I can't imagine your performance would be good.

I have done this before and this leads me to think I have screwed something up. I have it augment the game settings and my FPS stays pretty much the same with no real improvement in fidelity.

I mean, all you need to do there is reset your Nvidia Control Panel settings. That's a 1-click process.

Unless you've done something strange with ED's files, you literally can't mess something up there. Maybe a screenshot would be good.

What's your base resolution?

Using 2x supersampling should clean things up, if you're running a 1920x1080 monitor and using 2x SS, you are essentially running the game at 4k and should see virtually no jaggies.

It also depends a lot on your monitor size, I'm running on a 42 inch 4k TV and see almost no jaggies even though im not running at native 4k (my 1070 isn't quite powerful enough to manage 4k native). If you are running on a really REALLY big screen (100"+) then you are always going to see jaggies.
