Anti-gravitational anomaly detected

I discovered these special rocks containing Antigravitonium (Av). Haven't figure out how to mine them yet tho... [haha]

Happens to me all the time, on my ten-year-old PC that was never optimized for gaming to start with.

It's just failed to render the ground properly. The rocks are sitting where the ground actually is. I'm sure if you drive over to where the rocks are floating and do an external view of your SRV, it will be floating too.

Immersion-breaking floating rocks and bases and a "ground level" that's several hundred metres above or below the actual ground is one reason why I don't land on planets very often. The other is the fact that it usually takes a minute or two to drop out of orbital cruise.

It is a bug. I have reported it in the bugs section with plenty of proof. I had a decent computer with a 1080ti and I get this all the time as well as clipping into the ground and terrain. It seems the longer I stay on a planet.... the more messed up things get lol.

LOL thanks guys. Yeah I realized it’s a bug. Relogging solved this particular issue. I have new PC that I built last year with Kabi Lake proc and Geforce 1080 video card. I know these glitches happen, although this is first time I’ve seen one, no biggie, I just thought it was funny :)

The whole planet terrain is made of square pieces of geometry and as far as i can tell this happens when you switch driving from one piece to a different piece of terrain and the game doesn't switch the LOD(Level of Detail) to the proper one which should be the most detailed one. That means there is not enough geometry to properly show elevation or just detail in general, that's why the rocks are floating. At least the collision mesh is fine. Re-logging fixes that.

This. I have a pic somewhere of the transition between two squares; one with correct lod and the other not; pretty odd looking.

Here's a pic I took from 3rd perspective. SRV is correctly rendered where it should be. Love the shadows.

Must be a deeper problem within the engine since it also happens on PS4 sometimes. Just yesterday after having driven around a planet for half an hour these started to appear and I could drive below the apparent ground level sometimes, looking at the textures from below.
