Anti-Titan Ship Builds summary

Took all three builds for a spin vs Titan Leigong. Have to say, all perform admirably:
  • The “TitanKiller" Krait Mk2 v2.0b (Bomber configuration) hits the hardest, but has the least utility (no TV beam); solo, it'll do the most damage. However, in a protracted group engagement, it'll find itself getting beaten up to a degree - and relies on heatsink synthesis more than the other builds.
  • The “TitanKiller" Krait Mk2 v2.0f (Fighter configuration) does about half the damage to the core than its bomber sibling, and about a third of its damage-per-dive ability, but has the ability to swat scouts, glaives and interceptors, making it an excellent escort which can also bomb vents and add damage to the core when not otherwise-occupied.
  • The “TitanBomber" Mamba v2.0 has the easiest time of the three at bombing all 8 vents, and has the best survivability with its concordant-sequence wing-regen effect. It also carries twice as many torpedoes as the Kraits. Its combat use is limited to a capable and well-trained wing however. Advanced build, which requires skill and a pretty hostile instance to outperform the Krait.

“TitanKiller" Krait Mk2 v2.0b (Bomber configuration)

  • [Note: I had two heatsinks instead of two caustic sinks on the demo ship by mistake ... it is functionally pretty much equivalent to the listed build]
  • FG1A: Nanite Torp plus (first) heatsink; FG1B: Repair Limpet
  • FG2A: All AX MRs; FG2B: Repair Limpet
  • FG3A: Caustic sinks; FG3B: TPN (you can also unmap this and use just the hotkey if you prefer) - if you do that, put repair limpets here as well

“TitanKiller" Krait Mk2 v2.0f (Fighter configuration)

  • FG1A: Nanite Torp plus heatsink; FG1B: TV beam
  • FG2A: All AX MCs; FG2B: TV Beam plus xeno scanner
  • FG3A: Repair limpet; FG3B: TV Beam plus xeno scanner
  • FG4A: Caustic sink; FG4B: TPN (you can also unmap this and use just the hotkey if you prefer) - if you do that, put TV Beam here as well

“TitanBomber" Mamba v2.0

  • FG1A: Concondant Pulse; FG1B: TV Beam
  • FG2A: Nanite Torp plus heatsink; FG2B: TV Beam
  • FG3A: All AX MRs; FG3B: TV Beam
  • FG4A: Caustic sinks (both); FG4B: TPN (you can also unmap this and use just the hotkey if you prefer) - if you do that, put TV Beam here as well

What I did for my take at a titan-bombing Krait was to undersize the fuel tank to 16 tons, power plant to 6A low emissions, thermal spread and keep the military grade heavy duty, deep plating armor. Still boosts to 540 m/s, still just enough power for three class 2 Sirius missile racks, TV beam and torpedoes (and more than enough for eAXMC-s), and a bit more armor.

Decided to go for class 2 missiles to save some materials and weight, and they should have plenty of ammo for a single class 2 torpedo pylon. Though less damage per clip, so a bit less efficient in solo if you can manage to hit 7 or 8 vents, I doubt I'll ever manage to empty a clip if I can realistically hit only 6 vents per run. In open, all bets are off and if friday was any indication my outings will end with 3 interceptors and 10 scouts (with a few glaives mixed in for fun) sending me on a 6 million credit express service to my carrier way before I run out of ammo🤪

I’m trying out a clipper version of a Titan bomber. It may have less firepower than the Kraits but should be faster and hardier than the mamba, with C7 repair limpets.

I'm just now looking at this, and I can't find any reference anywhere to a 3C Enhanced AX Missle Rack. There is 3B (manual aim) and 3D (turret) but no 3C. What am I missing?

Enhaced use the letter B and D, the basic obsolete AX Missiles from years ago use the letter C.

Sirius Engineered AX Missiles ar 3C AX Missiles (fixed), not 3D Enhaced AX Missiles (turreted) or 3B (fixed)

You have the letters in EDSY.org , with a icon for the tech broker modules.

So, in other words, there's no such thing as a 3C Enhanced AX
It's just called a 3c pre engineered ax missle rack comes with g5 high cap and rapid fire. I've used both the enhanced and the pre engineered Sirius racks and prefer the later for titan bombing. The krait bomber build works much better if you sacrifice the med rack for a TV beam you can circle around a titan at 1-2% heat barely being noticed. Also use HD milspec armor instead of the lightweight I dont think the minor speed bonus is worth losing 1k hull hp but to each their own. Other than those 2 changes the build works out nicely.

The damage on enhanced racks is only slightly higher at 32 vs 30.4 for the Sirius racks. The high cap/rapid fire outweigh that marginal difference they are just expensive to get at 10 mil supercapictors per unlock.

For the MKII, why prefer bomber or fighter configuration ?
What is the difference ?
Whichever one let's you get the most dps in against the core before it retracts. You can tell by how much in bonds you get after each heat cycle. Haven't tried using mcs yet could try 3x azimuth mcs but I assume the Sirius missles get more burst dps in faster than mcs would.

Yup Sirius missiles win on DPS by a significant margin. Available from the megaship at Luyten's star for anyone who didn't know.

I ditched the limpets on my bomber Krait, she's got 4.5k hull & 840 missiles, we just keep hitting the titan til one of them runs out XD

If you've got plenty of mats for reloads it's probably worth dropping to the class 2 missile rack, same damage & big weight saving. Mine is a little unwieldy ngl

From my experience you can also ditch the TV beam, at least for solo mode. Pack the class 3 weapon stabilier on the Krait, and 4 class sirius missile racks together with the class 2 Nanite torpedo and your dps against the heat core is quite good. I am making over 1 mil credits per heat run solo with this setup 👍 (and the titan is still in „very high“ damage resistance). I am just spamming heat sinks from the sirius launcher and resynth them

I've tried not using the TV beam I get pretty heavy aggro but ymmv on that good luck either way.

After crashing into the titan too many times I decided my bomber tank was a little too unwieldy 😅 switched to lightweight armour, still got 4k hull 👍
As we do more runs things will get easier this is all new to most of us still. Cmdr Mechan turns his ship sideways from what I've seen in his streams and looks like a good way to hit the vents quick. In addition to the krait I have built for this I just got done building a cutter bomber that has 5 Sirius racks and will be practicing with it till Thursday. It has 6,300hp on the hull and idles at 16% heat with its monstered g5 le pp and with a TV beam and 5 sirius heatsinks I should be able to avoid any heavy aggro and hopefully hit a lot harder than my krait does. o7 and good luck everyone

Edit: I tried the cutter out def hits harder but is hard to get the vents and had to leave sooner since it attracted way more aggro by virtue of being a bigger visual target I think. Solo I still prefer the krait but the cutter would be a great choice if you are in a wing and have someone else hitting the vents. Staying in solo though have heard more than a few cmdrs getting ganked around the titan while I've been there.

Nice builds Vlad think my bomber cutter sits at 16% or so will try to get on edsy tomorrow and post its build. If in a wing it could really shine with core damage
