Anti xeno Cutter

I'm thinking about swapping out my engineered components from my anti xeno T10 into a new anti xeno Cutter. The Cutter has the speed (470 boost} and I can get the arrmour to a little over 5000 with a bunch of hull reinforcement packages. If I lose the 8A shield I can get the armour rating even higher. 3 large enhanced ax cannons, 3 medium enhanced ax cannons, and one long range beam laser with thermal venting for weapons. Lots of heat sinks, an enhanced xeno scanner, field neutralizer, etc. I've got a great Krait Mk II for scouts but she is no match for the Interceptors (partly due to my mediocre combat skills). Anybody tried using a Cutter on Interceptors? Any suggestions from the more experienced Interceptor hunters?

I just moved from FAS to a Cutter having tried a Corvette and found the lack of speed disturbing when attempting to get clear of a hyperdiction!

I’ve tried shielded and shieldless and, I have to say, given the size of target the Cutter represents, the shields work much better for me to absorb the “background noise” damage from Scouts in CZs when focusing on Interceptors. Indeed, if you can keep the shields up (so far, only Hydras and my own “why didn’t I pack limpets, now I have to use silent running to burn off caustic” stupidity have caused this …) then you take very little module damage from the phasing so I’ve been able to drop the AFMU.

I”m running:

  • 8C G4 Reinforced Bi Weave and 2x G5 Heavy Duty Shield Boosters for circa 2,500MJ shields
  • G4 Heavy Duty Military Composite Armour, 2x G5 Heavy Duty HRPs and 3 Guardian HRPs for around 4,600 hull
  • 2x C3 Gimballed EAX MCs (upper HPs) for Scout squishing
  • 3x C2 Mod Shards (lower HPs) for Interceptor damage
  • 2x C1 G3 LR / TV Beam Lasers on the wings for cooling
  • 7C Universal Limpet Controller + 6E Cargo Rack for repair / decontamination
  • 5D / 3D / 1D Guardan MRPs
  • 3F Experimental Weapon Stabilizer
  • Xeno Scanner / Shutdown Field Neutralizer / Engineered heatsinks
  • The usual engineered A-grade core modules (Overcharged PP / Charge Enhanced PD / Dirty Drive Thrusters)

It‘s a bit of a handful to throw around a CZ compared to the FAS but a lot of fun!
