If I sell my cartographic data to Universal Cartographics, do I loose access to the info in my navigation systems in any of my ships?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
so I tend to die ALOT!
I tend to use it to quickly boost rep with a controlling faction so I can get better missions, usually passengers (or unlock certain permits).Only reason to hold cartographic data and not sell immediately, is if you wish to sell later to gain influence for a system faction. BGS manipulation reasons.
Otherwise sell that stuff!
Be aware, Fleet Carriers will take 25%, but they do not have the minimum distance from the scanned system requirement ie. you can cash in on those ELW from within the same system.
Carto data sales still pretty flaky for me too. Have to come out and go back in to universal cartography to see what the state really is. I was cruising around doing combat with 25mil left to cash in and didn't realise because of this. At least I didn't lose it.Found out yesterday that there seems to be a problem selling exploration and exobiology data in large quantities.
For the exploration data I tried selling a page for 43mil cr and everything seemed fine. But then it said I had no more data to sell. I had to get out and get back into the UC screen to see my next page of data. This time it said I sold 83mil cr of data but 0 systems. Same thing happened a 3rd time, 43 mil cr, 0 systems. The 4th and last time, 15mil cr and 10 systems. Each time it would take about 5 to 10 mins for UC to load my carto data and display it. After all that there was not the slightest increase in the blue bar under my Elite Explorer’s rank.
Exobiology was just as bad. Had to do the screen reload to sell all my stuff. If I scrolled to the next page using the onscreen button the client would CTD. At least I had my rank increased as I was selling the data.
Thought all these had been sorted with the last big update for Horizons (except obviously the exobiology stuff.)
