Any good guide to Powerplay?

I've read several articles here and there and still didn't understood much.

There are 10 factions, every one offers bonuses and a special weapon/module as reward if you collect enough merits.

I'm at the stage I can take 10 cargo stuff every 30 minutes and take them to another system. Pretty boring I'd say. Discovered how to do that playing with the "system powers" menu. Not very intuitive I'd add.
I've no idea how to best manage this thing, I usually get 10 media cargo things and move them to the system that gives more CC (?) but I don't know if it's the right thing.

That's all? Or it's still not working and I'm just wasting time?

I don't believe the Powerplay is updating as of yet. I could be wrong..
but I've been at Rank 1 for some time now, even though I have the merits for Rank 2

So it's not working? I've 160 merits too and I'm still rank 1 but I don't know if rank is updated once a week or immediately. Anyone knows?

Update: "Ratings are rewarded at the end of the cycle."

Just read it, so I think it's normal. :)

The PowerPlay "cycle" should flip over every Thursday morning during server maintenance, at least that's what happens on the PC version. I think the Xbox galaxy has been forgotten about, as I'm still on the same credits I was last Wednesday. Booooo. Frontier, we're beta testing this baby for you! Can we have a nice little PowerPlay rollover to check nothing goes wrong please? (And I want my 5000Cr, but that's by the by.)

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the power play on Xbox 1 won't update until release. I'm not sure if the merits will carry over on reset or not.

I hope some official Frontier moderator will answer that. This game is already so difficult to learn without any official guide and not knowing if something works or not makes it even more frustrating (and time wasting).

Agreed. It would be great to hear from an official moderator. I aligned with Pranav Antal for the Enforcer Canon. Being in a Vulture at the time I started killing for him lol. Returned for my bounty and had 1 merit per kill and 100 credit per kill. As I said I read somewhere it won't reset on Xbox until release, and not knowing for sure, I decided it's best to do other things for now. I would love to know otherwise cause I want to participate in PowerPlay if I know its worth my time

There are a couple threads in the XBone bug forum about it; the official response there was that the PP cycle is not activated right now, but they are looking at doing it "soon". So, we on the xbox basically have had a four week long cycle. No word on when the next update will be, only "soon".

Apparently, there was a cycle trigger the first week after release because some people got Level rankings/bonuses; but I wasn't one of them. I guess you _could_ see it as a advantage, more time to earn up to higher level because of the extended cycle...

Well, problem is I've started to do Powerplay because other things don't work, lol.

Can't trade because most of space station make the game crash, can't kill wanted ships because RES are and you only see sidewinders and adders (big ships are extremely rare). Only exploration is left but honestly I find it a bit boring. So, what else? :)

You are correct. The PP stuff has not been completely activated on the XB1 version, so until the next build gets released there is still time to read up on how it all works. :)
