He was somewhat homophobic. Do a Google Search for "Orson Scott Card opinions". I could post a link here, but it is highly likely this would trigger Moderator actions.

The AO, Black Mirror, Haven, are really good series choices...

If you haven't seen Chappie...I recommend it...first, because I really like the idea put forth in the ending..and second, well...it features the two singers from Die Antwoord...something of a guilty pleasure for a person in their mid-50's...not an agreeable band for most...but tickles my fancy...

Black Mirror... good call

Chappie was good, but it suffered from one thing. District 9 was such a brilliant movie it raised the expectations of Chappie up to levels it couldn't meet. Chappie was a really decent movie that was only slightly worse than District 9

Sunshine is a awesome movie. Stacked cast Indi sci-fi.

You are correct, it was terrible compared to B5 but then most things are.

B5 Is only comparable to the remake of Battlestar Galactica (remake) as far as story and characters are concerned.

Stranger Things was good for one season but for me it has died a death and I don't bother with it now.
Moon +1 Fantastic movie to immerse yourself in as well as stunning visuals.
Sunshine, again not on Netflix but still worth a mention as a great movie.
Discovery is good if you forget it is set between Enterprise and TOS which is hard to do as the ship's tech looks more advanced than even the NCC1701J ship from the future.

What made you decide to give up on Stranger Things? I'm curious. I have a couple things I didnt like about season 2, but overall I really liked it.

As a 80's kid I fell in love with season 1 with all the things I remember from my childhood and it was kind of great to see things used in a large scale. Watch the show and see stuff in the background and say I remember those. Or I used to have one just like it.

Season 2 I felt like they pushed the 80's nostalgia a little too much and focusing on items and products pushing them into focus when it did nothing to the story other to say hey, remember this from the 80's. We really want you to know this is from the 80's. Its even in the 80's packaging.

If anything they relied imo a lot less on the nostalgia factor, but maybe it's a lot more noticeable in a second season... then again it is set in the 80 and feels like the 80,so you can't fault it for being authentic. I have other problems with certain characters dying/not dying and some plot elements. But spoilers.

And c'mon people! Watch Legion!
