Any ideas about the timing of the next CG?

Or alternatively, 'It's life Jim, but not as we know it'.

Now would be an especially good time to see some CGs come rolling in...
Whos going to be creating them..
Every ones at Home watching Disney+/youtube/Netflix instead of working.. They have not lowered bit rate during working hours per services to make it better for ISPs it done so that people stop watching when its low quality and buffering and go back to doing work...

Who would create them? I guess the same folks that always create them. I'm no programmer, so I could be absolutely wrong, but it seems like setting up a CG could be done remotely with a relative amount of ease.

CG did not work correctly when they were at the FDEV building and you expect them to now work via remote desktop...
Going to be fun waiting for the mass of spelling errors and Failure to even update the windows servers versions lol... and then have them try to fix the errors via remote access Bounty hunting in Systems that does not update and none of the systems have any res sites to get bounties from the systems selected and then have PC users whining again

Not worth it... With there family members distracting them ther work rate will allready be lower...

Right. I literally never had problems with CGs before, when they were at the "FDEV building." Literally none of them. Sorry you did, but if you are getting upset/frustrated due to spelling errors... I don't think there is much common ground for us to have any productive discussion.

My comment was suggesting that it would be good for the masses to have another distraction. I'm sorry you wanted to turn it into whatever you've turned it into.

My comment STILL STANDS: this would be a fantastic time for them to drop some CGs.

EDIT: not to mention the fact that their work rate is probably way down. They probably AREN'T doing too much in terms of major update work. So this would LITERALLY be an ideal time to tackle some of the comparatively smaller issues.

As has been stated a number of times by FD staff - there won't be any CGs until at least after the Fleet Carriers release (see here). CGs take more effort to put in then you might think when you factor in the authoring, server updates, QA etc. The good news is we should be finding out more about the FC next week, and the release date is set for June.

Oh, and let's lose the talk about work rates and the like - it's based on pure speculation and has no basis in fact.

To be honest, Frontier created an input mask where all you had to do was select a faction/system and the type of the CG (trade, bounty hunting, etc). Even the Galnet articles were created automatically.

I presume you are referring to the Player CG submission forms on the forum here right? From my many interactions with the teams that have implemented CGs into the game over the years, actually making the CG live is not as straight forward as that ...

SCS Software - Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator is doing it RIGHT. Wish we had at least a simple CG event...

SCS Software is exceedingly good at:

  • Implementing regular content
  • Letting their players know well in advance what upcoming content will be
  • Revealing their dev roadmaps
  • Incorporating fun and rewarding regular community events, like the one above

I wish Frontier was half as communicative as SCS Software is. Frontier used to be but after Horizons launched they changed their policies for some reason.
