Any maps showing how far out for unexplored systems?

Does anyone know of any rough map or can give me a clue on how far out from the main systems I will have to go before I start finding exploration firsts?

I set off in my T-6 last night, haven't got that far yet maybe 400-500ly out but intend to keep going......was just wondering when I could put my name on something :D

I'm heading away from the centre out towards our side of the galaxy's edge......just because I guess everyone else would head the other way.

Go at least 500 Ly in a direction not toward a nebula and you will find some.

A map would not be much use as less than 0.5% of the galaxy has been visited so far.

400 billion stars means you will already be find systemes that are unexplored. Though even if someone got there first you will still get paid for the data you collect. You shouldn't go exploring for the glory but for the fun of discovery itself. :)

Goto BD+03 2338, zoom right out and up and set route to fastest possible, choose somewhere random. Jump about 200ly along the route (go for 500 if you can) or so then do the same thing, zoom right out and move up so you get a 500ly or so random route but this time set to to most economical and you'll find that the whole area is mostly untapped...except for me lol but im somewhere else now, got so many firsts just going in a straight line that by the end i was watching netflix as it scrolled the list up.

You might find some closer, I've picked up a couple around 50 ly out last week. The best bet is not to head for any of the popular destinations.

I'm currently about 250lys from sol, below the galactic plane, and can find them quite regularly round here.

Thanks for the advice folks :)

Thats a really good idea I will try nose diving towards the floor of the galaxy tonight.

I've been doing this directly under inhabited space, and been finding unexplored systems a-plenty. I imagine the same would work if you went up top too.

I think if you just pick any direction and fly 500+ ly you will start to find some pretty quickly. I noticed at about 200 ly things started to get less and less explored. I am now about 800 ly and every jump is unexplored...with few exceptions.

Good luck out there.

Am I doing something wrong LOL I got about 800ly away from Sol headed away from the galaxy centre (and a bit left :p) and I'm not sure I've found a first discovery yet.....Do you get a message telling you?

How to find unexplored systems closer to home: Stay away from anything that looks interesting :)

More specifically, if you keep away from,
- Nebulae
- Supergiants, black holes, neutron stars, etc
- O,A,B stars

,and the routes to them from inhabited space, then you will start to find unexplored stuff not all that far away - within 500Ly.

I'm finding unexplored neutron stars at about 1000ly out, so long as not near an obvious landmark.

EDIT: I suspect that it may be easier to find unexplored things above or below the plane that Sol is in, too.

When you sell the data you get a message.

Ahhhhh ok that would explain it, thanks. So I am just looking for things that say "unexplored"? I may have found loads then haha!

Thank you again I am 1% less of a noob explorer thanks +1 rep for a pin point simple answer to a dumb question :)

I picked a direction and went on my first exploration.

Km on trip three before I talked how the height worked so easily ended on a difference plane. I just used my mouse after passing the map to there was somewhere I could reach.

It doesn't have a discovered by tag on the bodies.

Yeh anywhere near a Nebula and you'll need to go out a long way to find one.

I just headed towards the core but then decided, 200LY out, to head straight up a bit. I've found a lot, all within 300LY of Sol.

Like others have said, if not on the way to a major tourist attraction (nebula), you can find things in pretty close. I'm finding things out about 200ly right now.
