Any more events at EGX?

The Livestream at EGX was fine and all but the only new thing to come out of it was an exhibit animal. Everything else has been talked about before. Will there be any more events?

Also more fotage from gorillas and red pandas which was very nice.

I did expected more tbh. And since there is a lot more animals to show given all those datamining maybe we will have very interesting week in front of us? 2 weeks before release and so much new things to reveal, I believe they will speed things up.

Who says we will be revealing everything before launch? We don't want to spoil the experience for people who want to turn the game on and see a couple of surprises in there. I thought the message behind the Developer Diary was nice and informative, and really captured how much the dev team truly love the game. Very much looking forward to the community getting their hands on the full game soon! ✨:D

I would say more than just a couple cause honestly in my opinion only 3 completelly unseen biomes are worth that statement let a alone animals and maybe some theme who isn't shown yet.

I definitelly expect at least one new video before release with new stuff, but I already can see that there will be a lot none revealed stuff at launch.

Also saw that CC were about divided by about 100 for BETA and that research was completely different to BETA as well. There was a lot to see and it wasn't all about the animals

Frontier have had fingers burnt in the past by promising stuff in the run up to games (50 ships at launch anyone) dint affect the enjoyment of the game one bit but a few used it as a stick to beat the game with

15 Days to go . tomorrow we are closer to game release than we are to BETA end

For us, events like EGX aren't about news, they're about meeting the community, showing the game to people who don't know much about it, or maybe haven't heard of it. 15 days really isn't long to go now, and if we were going to show everything we haven't yet in around two weeks, some of it would be buried under so much news. We'd rather you get to appreciate things at your own pace and enjoy seeing something on your own sometimes.

Fare enough. But so far it seem that there are over 70 animals in the game. Plenty enough for lots to be revealed pre-release whilst still keeping many secret. With only 2 weeks left I would have been expecting more frequent news to build up hype. Personally I find it more effective to spread out news gradually overtime instead of at certain events. I don't doubt there will be plenty of stuff revealed on the last week though.

frontier have had fingers burned before by announcing stuff that wont get into game (50 ships on release anyone from Elite world)I expect them to keep specifics close to their chest so no one can beat the game up because something promised didn't make it.

I'm just curious, is it a PC player mentality to want everything revealed, aka spoiled, before release? Or just Planet Zoo enthusiasts? I'm mostly a console player so usually you consider it lucky to get just a small snippet of gameplay before launch, let alone explicit details about the game.

I'm a bit confused as to why everyone is super on edge about wanting more and more reveals... When there's only a couple of weeks left before you'll find it out anyway...

I think this is more about new generations then console - PC relation.

Now when internet has significantly evolved and it is avaiable in every part of planet things started to go much faster. A lot of informations, a lot of knowledge in every segment of life and games too.

Today it is unthinkable for players to pay something if they haven't got opportunity to see almost the whole game before actually paying for. Just 20 years earlier things were different. I remember when I was a kid and have a SNES. Sure I saw games before my parrents bought for me but barely 2 minutes of gameplay, like some tv commercial or trailer. Now you have behind the scenes, diaries, revealings for each big gaming event and of course leaks. Simply new generations get used to that new presentation which uncover the most of product before release and it's hard to go old school again :)

I’d say people have had the excitement of the beta as a taste and can’t wait for more. And now it’s like counting down to Christmas or a special birthday. We want surprises but at the same time we can’t wait to know what’s under the tree and will be shaking the boxes trying to figure out what’s inside. The period of anticipation feels like forever so people are keen for updates.

Also, updates are like social media likes. We get a hit each time something comes up and it becomes addictive so we crave more.

Specific to this game is the special excitement when we find out a new species we can add to our zoos - many of us are already making complex and detailed plans so it’s something you can add. And if we have previously played games like ZT2 there is the inevitable curiosity about what we’ll have in Planet Zoo that we didn’t have in other games and making comparisons with the old models and animations.

I definitely want the pleasure of discovery and surprise on opening my presents... but I’m also addicted to the hit of an update!

I's all my fault!

I've predicted that we won't get any new animals before the beta because they will want to hold back enough reveals for inbetween the end of the beta and Nov. 5th just to be able to build up the hype!
And guess what - they revealed new animals before the start of the beta and now we are on our beam-ends.

Apparently, I am notoriously bad at predicting Frontier's strategies (this was proven with Elite Dangerous as well) and they always tend to do exactly the opposite of what I expect and post in this forum ...

What the crud, Deggial?

Yeah, I don't think anyone would like to make you their fortune teller...

Anyway, I am craving for new reveals just like the others, but I also want to be patient.

we have been through various "ages" bronze iron industrial computing etc etc we are now slap bang in the beginning of the information age and are seeing an absolute explosion that is changing our lives. we crave information and we need it now. Without Information is like being in a vacuum. but we haven't really figured out yet how to best use it hen we have it
