Any more information on the permit locked system in LBN 623?

LBN 623 Sector JH-V C2-24 was permit locked. It is not locked now. I am there currently. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is a T-Tauri star and nothing else. I have been cruising around for a while and haven't seen any USS. I decided to head "up" toward the apparent emanation point of the nebula cloud. Nothing yet at 800kls.

Seems suspicious. Superlatively modeled obscure nebula. So close to the Pleiades and the Bubble. Formerly permit locked system now open.
I am not the first to come here by far. Was the mystery already solved? Was there no mystery to solve in the first place?

There were a load of permit locked systems in the Crescent Nebula when the game was released. By the time I got there a couple of weeks later, the permits had been lifted. I've still got the list somewhere if I went digging.

Yeah, I haven't seen anything indicating it was locked more recently than two years ago. It just seems suspicious to me because it's not one of the standard three nebula models. With all the things happening with the Thargoids, I thought it might be good to check it out.

Back in earlier days, there was a bug where random systems in various sectors were accidentally locked down. Like places in the Crescent nebula that Zenith mentioned. Not entire sectors, mind. That was later fixed, and those systems were opened up then.
These days, it appears that it's either entire spherical sectors that are locked down, or manually picked systems of some significance.
