Or will I be jumping into neat systems, with absolutely nothing happening, endlessly... over and over and over? Its pretty bland after a bit, im just sayin...
Yes.
If there were interesting things at every three jumps, you'd run out of everything before a hundred jumps. Just like in real life, not every tree is interesting and unique. (Sorry, tree enthusiasts!)
Now, you can basically go for two different kinds of approaches: one, try to find and follow clues to stuff that the developers placed themselves. There certainly aren't any easy ones right now though. (But then, whenever Frontier give out any easy clues, players will quickly find them in a couple of days, if not hours.)
Two, look for procedurally generated stuff, which can even have things that the developers themselves didn't realise before. That has happened before, several times. Or if you don't want to go through huge amounts of systems, you can also look for stuff that others have already found but that would be your own. Your own Earth-likes, thin water atmospherics (say hello to several hundreds of millions of credits then), and so on.
You can improve your chances if you're looking for various rare stuff, but at the end of the day, it's still about going through a lot of undiscovered systems which will turn out to be unrewarding. Exploring for long takes patience and perseverance, and it's a fairly chill / monotonous activity.
