Any other games out there, or upcoming ones that scratch an itch Elite doesnt?

What I mean by the question in the title of this thread is for all its potential bredth, and despite having the biggest gamepla area ever in a game, there is only a few things we can do in Elite, fly spaceships or zoom about in a buggy. As such there are bound to be gameplay styles that you itch to play, that elite doesnt accomodate. One general example could be racing, so you could dip into project cars 2, or if you want something a bit more scifi, Vector 36. Reason I ask is I'd love to get an insight into what direction you'd like to see Elite expand.

For me, the FPS itch wasn't scratched by Modern Warfare, as I felt it was a bit too arcady, I prefer somethign more tactical than machine gunnining a never ending swarm based. Sadly I suspect that the upcoming FPS against thargoids is going to go down this route of an endless streem of thargoids wating to get machine gunned. To scratch the stealth itch, I'm probably going to dip my toes in the waters of ARMA. Similarly I'd prefer something that rewards stealth, and I'm likely to play the later installments of the Splintercell franchise. Also the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 is likely to captivate me for a month or two, as I like the look and feel of it, and the non linear story line really appeals to me. As for vechicle based games, Redout in my opinon is what a dedicated elite universe racing vehcile would look like so I'm downloading that just now. The new mechwarrior, by virtue of being a mercs game, is, as well as scratching a battletech itch, going to appeal to my desire for a salvage / management style of play. I mean imaine after winning a CZ being able to mount a mission to recover a few plasma accelerators and other modules...

So thats my other games confessions, and a glimpse into what enthralls me about them, and as such I hope you see the potential relevance to (future relases of) Elite, whats your things you get from other games that you would like to see integrated into elite. For example, I'm sure Elite would lend itself to a business economy based Real Time Strategy gameplay model being put in as a feature...

You make a bunch of assumptions about the upcoming new content when we have almost exactly zero info about it. From the little we do know, I'm not getting anywhere near the same impression. That said, Elite currently scratches most of my itches, except for some 1P stuff, which get answered by Arma.

I also don't see Elite as being limited to "fly spaceships or zoom about in a buggy. " as you so eloquently put it.. Combat is different to trading which are both different to exploration.. Exploring means planetary excursions. Am I going to find a Guardian site? Thargoids? With exploration, you just never know. Different approaches to ED make for a different game to different players.

Haha, never could make these work. Didn't try too hard though, did the whole career with a mix of ESA first then Koenig. Haven't looked back since, although there are a couple events here and there where I had to go with the stupidly fast Sulha. I just love the Koenig handling and its generous durability compensates for a lot of my errrr... "less-than-ideal" lines.

Asera can use the mag stabilizer forever and still get its energy back if you use enhanced turbine. Also turbo boost and enhanced turbine

Released or unreleased?

Give it a few years and Star Citizen might be something.

Yea, i know, controversial thing to bring up but it DOES scratch several itches at once.

From the Depths it is for me right now. Is not really space game but eventually I'll reach the "space layer". Which is just high altitude really but it does the job.

I just picked up rebel galaxy outlaw for £7.99 on epic.
its essentially Privateer/galaxy on fire. (but clearly much higher budget than GOF)

for the price its a no brainer if you like that kind of game. definitely not rivalling elite. it scratches a different itch but i just put 45 mins into it and i do not want to go to bed!. (but i have to)
