Any other Premium Beta players still in Sidewinders?

So I've been playing for almost two weeks now and I still find myself in a Sidewinder with about 30k credits to my name. The next ship up is the Eagle at 41k + insurance + parts - but I still plan one get one

Want to put Gimble Multicannon in fire group 1, and a powerful pulse laser in group 2 I've also seen one fire missiles! I think I have it on video.

Anyway - I love this game, but I always get my butt kicked somehow - either trade is down because of other players - or the AI or a player jumps me.

I wonder, should "rubbish" players like us, or people who don't have time because of exams are penalised? The Alpha backers got bonus credits about 2 weeks in, so can we? :D

You don't need to put much effort in to make money.

I don't have much time to play either, maybe a couple of hours every other night.

That said, after 10 days I had enough to buy my Cobra, with a little extra for insurance and stock.

Head to the conflict zones and start farming NPCs. You'll make 10K in less than an hour, plus improve your flying skills at the same time.

I've not been able to play much because of work so I'm still in a Sidewinder. However, I'm okay with that. With 400 billion gazillion places to visit the final release marks this game as a marathon, not a sprint. If I'm still in a Sidewinder months into the game I'll still have the same wide smile on my face.

A sidewinder pilot with 3000 credits and 2 pulse lasers here. I've had to reset my progress a few times, I've lost cargo worth several thousand credits a few times and I've lost my second pulse laser twice. If I knew how to play properly from the beginning, I'd be filthy rich by now.

While I've enjoyed this awfully lot despite the setbacks, I'm now mostly waiting for the next update. Of course I need to play still once in a while, obviously.

I'm in an Eagle, finally.

But am sick and tired of losing progress in an instance with constant CTD every ten minutes.

I'm only playing every couple of days / when I get over the frustrations with how that the various bugs are inhibiting progress.

Also, my preferred option of trading - the markets so skewed, with so many people trading in so limited an area that 3 trading runs are only making 1k of credits. so much so that I couldn't be bothered trading anymore atm.

I'm still in a Sidewinder with the loaned peashooter. I do go to the conflict zones but I treat my spaceship as a disposable item.

I'm sure I've singlehandedly kept Faulcon de Lacy in the black with all the Sidewinders they are churning out.

I have a Sidewinder and the basic amount of cash. My total playtime is somewhere around 5 minutes, though. Been much too busy... :/

Sidewinder here.
Had a Cobra through majority of Alpha 3 and loved it but just can't be bothered now.

Am not playing much because there really isn't much to test or experience at his stage.

Am waiting from for the next major build and for new gameplay elements.

Yep, i'm still in the trusty sidewinder too, but got 2 class 2 pulse lasers and around 14k dosh...Those conflict zones can be difficult when 3 or more ships gang up on you! Lately i've been trying the federation distress call and its just as difficult but at least I get credit for most of my kills. Whereas in the conflict zones most times I nailed a guy someone else got the credit and dosh (not real players but npc's with beam weapons)

Its very slow going...I play around an hour or two every day

Me too,

have lost my money several times, but enjoying every minute of it so far.

Currently in Default sidewinder with about 3000 credits - oh well :)

Still in a Sidewinder too - I have limited time to play and if I play, I mostly play other games - saving ED up for the arrival of my OR devkit 2.

I'm also on of those Sidewinder pilots :D Mostly screwing around, flying to point A to point B, admiring the view and overall spaceship behavior :) However...I tried a bit more serious aproach to money making, but:
1) when I was transporting some cargo to make some profit I encountered disappearing station bug - station "respawned" on me and it was a quick and painless death
2) another trade run ended up with me being too curious about some space anomaly (unidentified signal it was called or something like that) and ended up being desintegrated by 4 ships which I thought were friendly ones ;)
3) whenever I entered Conflict Zone to make some "easy" money, after choosing the side I went poof in like 10-15 seconds. ***? ;) I mean, every single time. Am I doing something wrong? It's like I come to the zone, turn off my engines and watch me being a shooting duck. I try to manouver as best as I can, try to shoot some red flagged, but I die quickly without a clue what I am doing wrong.

But, despite all of those things, I really enjoy playing it and I'm looking forward to how the game progress!

Kind regards,
Hampius
Sidewinder Pilot Forever ;)

Still in a sidewinder. Don't have a huge amount of time to play. The only reason I'm at about 30k credits now is because over the past 2 days I've managed to get some 25k from scooping up cannisters at one of the signal sources.

I've not bothered with the combat zones as I rarely get the bounties.

yup, sidewinder and about 3000 cash , surely this can't be good for PB testing if lots of us are stuck on the starting ship ?

So I thought I'd take it steady - started trading and seemed to be making slow progress. Got to about 6k and lost it all through some station bug. Ho Hum. Back to trading and back to the same cash level - this is about a week or so in now. Haven't fired a shot in anger thus far.

Head to Federation Distress - get 7 kills before being boomed by an Eagle. Select Free Sidewinder and lol at my mistake. Back to trading again. Decide I'll get myself some decent weaponry before taking on the bad guys. Trade up to about 15k (another week has passed now) and get two gimballed pulse lazors. Ready to rock? Not quite - don't forget that insurance buffer... Get 6k for insurance. Head to Fed Distress and get boomed as soon as I pick a side (Feds, natch).

'Bah, that was real person in that cobra hitting me with a railgun. Grrrrrr! maybe I should go back and get him? Ok, bit more caution this time, only a couple of craft on scanner, pick side - select nearest hostile, pew pew - boom! I'm dead again.

So here I am, back to 2k in a sidewinder thinking 'you know, I might just watch this World Cup after all'. I'm just Cobra railgun fodder atm it seems.

I will trade for an hour or so between matches, but as there's little point in investing too much effort at this stage, that's cool. Loving the game thus far.

Yep still in Sidewinder and have less money than I started with.

Have yet to have a game where it doesn't lock up on exiting supercruise, or lockup on the loading screen once my ship is destroyed.

I'd really like access to a quit game menu in the 'your ship was destroyed' do you want a free one? screen as at this point I'm usually P'd off and want to go do something else.

Hoping for better things with next release.
