Any Plans of Making Rapid Fire Viable Again?

I never tried rapid fire before its nerf some patches ago when the heat was increased and the armour piercing buff removed.

When I play around in Coriolis EDCD it always results in overcharged being the way better modification with identical damage, but way less heat generation and of course without any jitter when grade 5 engineered.

Nevertheless I modded two large pulse lasers with rapid fire grade 5 for my vulture but the results are exactly like predicted, the heat generation is in issue and there are no other advantages which would balance that.

So FD, do you have any ideas of re-balancing or re-defining (or whatever you would like to call it) rapid fire? Btw: The same applies to short range blaster lasers, they absolutely don't make any sense compared to overcharged atm.
