any problems with Elite after upgrading to Windows 10

My computer is bugging me constantly to upgrade to Windows 10 but I'm concerned Elite will not work after the upgrade. Anybody do an upgrade and were there any issues after the upgrade? Thanks

I've been running 10 since pretty much the day it came out, no problems here - just make sure you have upgraded all your device drivers. I have an Nvidia 980 based video card, a Saitek X55 joystick and a TrackIR 5. They all work fine.

It should work just fine. Just be aware that if you use one, there are some USB power and driver issues with X52 Pro joysticks with 10.

No problems with Elite, but just be forewarned that Windows 10 makes Microsoft think they own your computer now, and not you. Really annoying, until you go in and disable all their "here, let me do this for you" crapware.

Since the clock (I believe the offer ends in July) is ticking on the "free" aspect of the upgrade I am wondering about this myself.

I am also wondering if sticking with my present OS (Win 7 Pro 64) is eventually going to get me in the same place as Win 10 anyway since M$ could be pushing the same "nanny upgrades" into my present system.

Anyone running an AMD GPU tried Win 10 yet? Would love to know that my R9 290 as well as my Logitech G940 HOTAS can handle the new stuff....

I have an older AMD, but my friend runs a 290 and has no problem in Elite / Win 10.

Windows 10 eat up about 10% more system resources compared to 7.
If you have decently equipped machine, you won't notice it, but if you are running the Elite somewhat "on the edge", 10s will turn in from "quite comfortably playable" to "I need a new PC or I'm gonna have a fit"

Until DX12 is fully in use in new games, I am kind of against the gaming on Windows 10 in general. In shape they are now, they belong on tablets.

I never upgrade the OS, the only time I get a new OS is when I buy a new computer with the OS. MS does no troubleshooting with their new OS, they let users DL it, and they become the troubleshooters. So you are tooling along and wham, some bug comes up and your computer freezes. You email to MS who may get around to analyzing what caused the issue in a week or two, then devising a fix. The whole time you have to wait for it. Since I only use my computer for gaming, and very little else, I don't need to upgrade every time something new comes along.

its fine for most but some report big problems going back to a 8.1 virtualisation or run in mode can help in those situations

I never had any problems with any game with windows 10. Had to manually install some driver updates for some of my stuff and select my GTX 770 to be used as GPU instead of integrated gpu after upgrade. Only software that i needed to replace because it didn't work on windows 10 was adobe premier elements 11.

Win 10 works fine for me with ED. The only     le is that lots of other (earlier gen) games like MOH, GTA VI, BF3 will not work in 10.

No problems with for ED
No problems running adobe premier elements 11 either. Just make sure you run most programs as administrator works for me.

No problems with Elite on Win 10, but it seems to have random issues with network connections (winsock) for some people

Don't let the notification force your hand. This can easily be disabled with a quick google search.

Your existing Windows licence is valid to at least 2020 (Win7) with Win8 being a few years later. If you are happy with your computer and how it runs, you don't need to be forced into upgrading until you are ready. The upgrade prompt can be disabled as mentioned above, and the nagging should stop after July when the 12 month free upgrade offer ends.
