Any PSVR Headset Users in the house?

Was just reading about the new hack to let the PSVR headset work with Steam games on the PC. Supposedly Elite is working rather well with it, as while head tracking is working positional tracking isn't, which isn't really needed for Elite that much anyway.

I have a Rift and haven't gotten to try the PSVR yet but am very curious about this. At $400 for the PSVR headset, which I hear is actually very good if not as high quality display as the Rift/Vive, this could open a far cheaper door for players to jump into VR. If you're a PS4/PS4Pro owner and PC gamer this might be a no brainer, get one $400 headset that would work on both sorta doubling your library? Not bad, not bad at all.

So anyone in the house try this yet and want to confirm/comment???

That's pretty cool to know although I do use the head position on my DK2 quite a bit to read small text...

I was toying with the idea of getting a PSVR for my PS4, depends of Gran Turismo Sport will support it properly...

I disagree about the positional tracking!. For me without it immersion is killed!

This.

Before the Rift, I was using TrackIR Pro for tracking. Manual headlook is a chore regardless of what setup or controller being used in games like Elite. It might not be a big deal for FPS given the relatively simple control mapping needed to play those titles but for sims--especially combat--it's a must-have feature. IMO it's easily worth the price difference even if you disregard other benefits the Rift platform has to offer for PC gaming.

I don't think Sony intended to offer the PSVR to compete against the Rift/Vive, rather to beat Microsoft to the punch before Project Scorpio/Microsoft Whatever VR package is released a year from now. If you're locked into the PS4, PSVR+PS4Pro is about the best you can do to get into the VR space on console today. But for Elite...nope, not even close.
