Any PVP groups still active?

Every now and then I read about SDC. What about the others? Is AA still protecting, Is The Code pirating again? Anyone around who can tell about their PVP initiatives?

What are you up to these days? If not active, why not?

Edit: I'm just wondering about the current state of PVP affairs. There seem to have been a decline in "PVP news" on the forums. What's the agenda of PVP groups today? Is everybody just going to CGs and play either good guys or bad guys or is it more subtle? Any wars between groups? What creates conflict in the game? All in a fun way, of course.

Just as a heads up, absolutely join a PvP faction, but if you're itching for a friendly you can usually request a duel with someone and sate the thirst.

I always have new loadouts to try, so feel free to pop me a message any point for a friendly.

Fair enough :) Would you be able to share what your PVP initiatives involve? I.e. patrolling Eravate? Other? Is it enough to find PVP these days?

While our group is a federation group we don't in force members to be so. Our main goal is to hunt and kill noob killers and wanted cmdrs that inhabit the starting systems around LHS 3447 as well as opposing terrorist groups actions. We also on occasion operate outside of Eravate either supporting CGs or opposing imperial activities.

As for pvp action, our group is full of players from around the world so theirs always someone on doing something. Even if 2.1 instancing was horrible.

I would say head to the nearest CG but the bubble adjacent CGs are all complete atm.

Check the "groups" subforum dude.

Thank you; I wasn't particularly looking for a PVP to join though, I'm just wondering about the current state of PVP affairs. There seem to have been a decline in "PVP news" on the forums. PvPers currently either take a break, grind with the Engineers or are just doing vanilla PvP or practice sessions. Regular PvP is not really interesting at the moment as the meta game is by far too strong. Railguns, Plasmas, Beams all not viable at all and the FDL being the must-have ship. Encounters are predefined by loadout as the result is clear soley by the ship role the players have.

You could say that PvP in general is currently at a low, apart from SDC. They keep destroying random ships in order to prevent an overflow of credits :p
I mean, everyone in an Anaconda would be boring, right?

Other than that. AA is still protecting Eravate but TBH I haven't seen anything interesting in PvP lately. Gonna wait 'till Engineers are no longer gods which grant us magic power of doom.

Thank you; my CMDR name is Eodemos. Please add me in game if you like or let me know your CMDR name.

Yes, I suspected that Engineers plays a role. It takes a bit of commitment to level up, something I struggle with myself.

We have our piracy group headed by Hagglebeard. Its got a mix of PvE and PvP players in it, from hardcore PvP pirates who are also members of SDC to hardcore PvE pirates like myself.

How is the pirating going in your group? The PVP piracy bug that made cargo disappear has been fixed in 2.2 if I'm not mistaken but I haven't seen any complains posted by piracy victims since 2.2 dropped.

As Crimson Kaim rightly points out, the PvP meta is messy atm, which is why I've largely avoided CGs recently.

Random encounters still happen though, and they are the way to go. I sometimes kit myself out in a non-meta ship, take myself to a HazRez, deliberately pick up a bounty and wait for another CMDR to hit me. Had some fun fights that way, and you'll notice the best PvP fights are when everyone HASN'T been gearing up for it. Instead of spending 10 minutes chipping at someone's shields you get to have an actually dynamic fight in an asteroid belt. Yup, that's my tune there.
