Any reason to Rank higher than Duke?

Once you reach the Rank of Duke in the Imperial Navy is there any good reason to continue to rank to King? Other than pride I guess.

I ranked to prince.
My logic:
-Shortens a rank grind in the future if content is rank locked.
-Save myself from ranking all the way to King grind in case no content is ever released.
-Allows me to naturally ascend to the top rank by playing the game instead of actively grinding to King.
-Better to grind one extra rank now in case ranking becomes more difficult. (No data mission stacking,no more instance switching, etc.)

I think prince rank is a good place to stop.
You're prepared for the future, but you're not so heavily invested in rank grinding that you miss out on current opportunities/having fun.

I'm waiting for that "career" thing they keep talking about implementing for gaining rank. For now I'll just do a few missions here and there as I fancy.

That's a good idea. Makes sense and hopefully they will add something to make it worth it.

Somewhere was written (not sure if info is correct) that Rear Admiral can delete bounty on itself?
Can Duke do that also?

The reason to keep ranking along time is simple: whenever new rank locked content comes out, you won't be needing to "force-grind" ranks, making the whole ranking process feel much easier.

True and sole reason indeed. This implementation of ranks is somewhere between wrong and delusional.

If I was role-playiing, I'd think that a true Imperial would progress past Duke, just to prove that they love the Empire and not just the Cutter. :p

But, in reality, the way I play I do a load of missions anyway for the credits (especially now that mission payout has been corrected for 2.1), so I'm 92% Duke.

I've done the grind with the Feds until I gained Admiral, I am planning on doing the same with the Empire, so it's not JUST for the ships, but that was the original intention.
At the moment, still on 79% Duke, and allied with all the minor factions in Cubeo, and I am getting some rather nice high paying missions while still ranking up.
At the same time, I jump over to neighbouring systems, to rank up with the minor factions there too.
Once I finished with the Empire, I plan on doing the same with the Alliance, well at least to lift my reputation with them...

So where did you do your grinding for the Feds?
