Any rules on where to find Skimmer missions

Hi folks,

Is there any particular systems / stations or whatever to get Skimmer missions?

I did a few a while back and they seemed to be at every station I stopped at.

Then I went off and tried some kill pirates missions, but I've got fed up as I can't get interdiction to work any more.

So I want to go back and do some Skimmer missions to save up to upgrade from Cobra 3 to Asp Explorer.

But I haven't found a Skimmer mission for ages.

Are they only given at certain kinds of stations?

They might be tied to a certain system state. Most of the missions are, although with skimmer missions to doesn't make that much sense.

I'll keep an eye out and if I find some, I'll do some research.
In the mean time, try visiting systems with all different state and visit both stations and surface ports. Maybe you'll get lucky.

in my impression, they mainly spawn at stations that produce skimmer components (industrial), and if a minor faction is in no state.

Systems at war or in conflict with other systems tend to have these in larger numbers.
Also systems along boarders with other factions - Empire/Federation boarder, Federation/Alliance boarder, Alliance/Empire boarder systems also tend towards higher numbers of these.

But they can and do often turn up just about everywhere.

They're fun for a few hours, but shooting barrelfish tends to loose its thrill before long.

I am sort of curious to know if these can be engaged in a fighter though - might be a more interesting way to blast these pests.
