Any tips for a new pirate with 48 million spare?

Piracy is probably the least efficient method of earning money in the game by a staggering margin (seriously -- I could probably make more money by mission grinding in any generic station). So, my advice would be... just don't. You'd make a trader's life miserable for a paltry, almost meaningless amount of money.

Then again, good luck finding traders that play in Open, to begin with. Trading / mining in Open Play is just about senseless.

No, it makes traders lives more interesting! True pirates are fantastic and make the memorable moments in this game.

With so much spare money, have you thought about being a REVERSE PIRATE? Interdict Commanders and leave them with a couple of tons of rares or metals? Would make for interesting play :D

I'd suggest still giving the ultimatum and disabling engines if they run, followed by destruction if they refuse to comply.

If you are pirating players (I assume you will be as it is the only way to pirate that is fun and profitable), then you need something that is fast. Resist the temptation to run an ASP. They're great, but, if you encounter bounty hunters (YOU WILL), you're sunk in the ASP. So, Cobra MK III to start, then when you get about 80 million, move up to a Clipper. The 80 million will let you A-rate the Clipper and have about ten million left over for operating expenses.

Remember, pirates have no pride. If you live to tax another day, that's good enough. But you better be good with the trigger, regardless, as you're bound to run into trouble.

Piracy is about fun, not credits.

And good pirates kill the nasty trader murderers. They protect their flock. If the spice doesn't flow the pirates aren't happy.

Disagree with this 100%. I've been pirating in an Asp for a while. You just need to be smart about it and have a high wake target selected so you can bail on a second's notice. I've been killed by a BH once, and that was before I started doing the above. I actually troll BH's, especially when they're in vultures

For PvP, try this budget FAS build http://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_a...b1d1a1a020202020404B3C0276e.AwRj4yqA.Aw18cQ== (you need rank of CPO)

For PvE, you're in a bit of a rut. I'd recommend either Federal Dropship if you're ok with getting a little rank (http://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_d...727270202020c054b04C06vC001.Iw18aQ==.Aw18aQ==), Clipper if you don't mind the grind to baron (http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_...727020c0200064h0303C0C06q6d.Iw18aQ==.Aw18aQ==) or Asp if you don't have rank and want some spare cash (http://coriolis.io/outfit/asp/25A5A5A4D4A5D5C7h27242424240404000c0504C0C0406q6b.Iw18WQ==.Aw18WQ==)

For PvE, you can easily make 5-8 mill per hour equivalent by getting to rank 5 every week undermining via Powerplay piracy
