Any tips for the uncreative

So I’ve been playing the game over a year now and really enjoy it. I would enjoy it SO much more however if I could even be a fraction as creative as some people are in designing and building things. I watch chanel5gaming spotlights all the time and I’m always like HOW??

I can sometimes think of ideas I’d love to make but when I go to make them, it’s like I completely go blank. I know half the people will just say to play around with it, try out different things but that doesn’t help me much at all. I see these amazing spotlights whether it be coaster spotlights or park spotlights and I envy the people who have designed and built what they have done. it so much. Buts like how the heck to they do it? Do you build the whole roller coaster first and then design around it or vice versa or so they just constantly switch between building a coaster/ride or building the theming. Half the stuff, especially in the Park spotlights, I don’t even know how to do it. In example making the pathing look like one big open area the guest can walk on. Then especially in park spotlights, how to go about where to put certain decorations or designs and also fit in rides and coasters to make it look so realistic.

Any tips other than just playing around with it all which I do all the time yet still doesn’t help me put what idea I’m thinking of into the design itself. Any videos if anyone building a heavily themed coaster or designing a huge pet wiloukd be nice. All I can find on YouTube most of the time are just basic tutorials and spotlights on coasters/rides/parks already finished. When I want to know exactly how the person went about it to create what they did. Like I said above, building entire coaster first and then building around it or some other way? It gets really frustrating for myself because i so wish I was as creative and knew what’s to do like so many people are. I know some of these builds take months and months to complete. I don’t have problem with that so much as I can’t figure out how to go about actually building it. Hope this all made sense lol

TiA from one of the most uncreative person to walk this planet 😂

Trust me you are not the only one. I also have ideas but go blank. What I have problems with are using items in a different way then they were intended for. Like using doors to make custom roofs or using the back of a bunch of windows for a wall. I don’t know to do those things unless I see it on a video because there are so many items that could be used for different things. Because of that I download an item then replicate it .

Do u watch anyone beside channel5 gaming? After a year u probably have but just in case There’s DeLadysigner (my fav), Geekism, Rudi Rennkamel, Pause Games, MaskedBandit, Silvarret, Wesley Fabry (pixelwess89), Sdanwolf, uthris

I’ve also had this game for a year and I’m still working on learning.

OH definitely. I do watch other channels, geeking is another one of my favorite channels out there. Channel5gaming is just used forbthe biggest example because I love the coaster/park spotlights he does since he shows work from so many different people.i will definitely have to check out the other channels you mentioned as well.

Have you ever watched channel5 spotlight on roller coaster mountain? I think that’s what it’s called... I’ll have to find link and post it here. That is one creation that just blows me away. Would love to have seen a time lapse or something of the sort on how he went about building it. It’s amazing!

If you go for buildings it helps to read up on architecture. Go look for the theme you want to go for, period in history or classic theme parks. Study the details.

As for building it is good to try to go asymmetrical. No square or rectangular boxes, are boring.

Once you have foundation you can go on with embellishing it.

As for coasters, I do both ways. Sometimes I build a great coaster and then I use that to make theme around. Sometimes I start with the station building and then build coaster layout that will work around that.
The most fun however is to landscape around the coaster. It is rewarding, however this thing is not really best idea for uploading. :/ But for self playing it is nice! I love wrapping coaster around terrain.

I am also bad at the "using objects in alteranative way" but now with many dlc's there's many ready made stuff I can use right away. ;) You do not HAVE to use the objects that way, you can still use them "proper" way but key is to use lots of them, harmonic colors, harmonic themeing. I admit it is good to have a good eye for color coordinating and for theme styles going together. Safe bet is to stick to one certain theme/dlc at least there it is made to be matched.

As for colors; I think many use too dull colors, loving this greyish range. :/ I miss more colorful stuff! (with exception for doing spooky or wastelands) BUT with that said, STAY away from the "Windows Paint" primary colors. ;D Colors can be vibrant but try to use a little off the corners plus slide the hue toward some direction, for example instead for true red you can pull up or down toward blue or yellow. PlanCo color swatches always safe bet in that sense.
Then there's always online sites where you can get inspired by composed color ranges. Or study real life objects/buildings! Paint chips for example good idea.

Thanks a bunch for those tips. I will definitely research some actual coasters/decorations/boarding stations in real life to hopefully help me get idea and make my own version of it. Thinking of ideas isn’t so much the biggest problem I’m finding with myself, I can picture sorta of what I think would be cool. It’s when I go to play that I just go so blank and have no clue where to even begin on HOW to put what I’m visioning in my head into action.

I think what may help me out, and sure gonna try is to start small. Like making s simple building or a nicely themed coaster. Versus trying to start off with building a big fancy park which overwhelms me easily. So I’ll try to at first think more small and see how it goes.

Right now I have a good idea in my head and even trying to make up a backstory for it. Which maybe will help me go about actually building it. Problem is, I had a decent idea on how I wanted to start off the coaster I wanted to use, wanted to try to wrap the chain lift around something but the coaster I wanted to use and all the other ones I checked out, you have to have a vertical lift, can’t curve it. So I am blank once again.😂
