Newcomer / Intro Any tips to fine tuning mouse controls?

I've tried experimenting with the mouse settings to get them to work better for me. It seems there is a toss up between ship maneuverability and being able to maintain reticle on an enemy target. Right now there is too much back and forth movement. So I want the ship to be responsive but I don't want to be all over the place when targeting. I'm wondering if the deadzone or power curve might help. I did drop the mouse sensitivity down but again I'm trying to find the happy medium. Any suggested settings? Thanks.

I’m only using the mouse for on foot controls and the full spectrum scanner (have a HOTAS from old Fight-Sim days and I’m guessing most people use something similar).
But you wouldn’t happen to have an adjustable DPI setting on your mouse? On my mouse there are two buttons just to toggle 5 different DPI settings (dots per inch) up or down, this way I can set an ultra sensitive value for fast movement and change to a super precise one on the fly.

If not, maybe a new gaming mouse (which should have some form of adjustable sensitivity on the mouse) is an option? Good luck on finding the right settings.

wondering were my mouse dpi settings and ingame mouse settings intersect.

There are mouse options in the controls options for Ship (which also has the FSS mouse settings) and separate settings in the On Foot section.

I don't use the mouse for flight but maybe that "power curve" setting might help (no idea what it does).

I do use a razor Hex, I'll have to double check synapse for those settings, as I largely use it for alts and RH keys. It's only 7 extra buttons, but God it's so handy.
