Any way to avoid the CTD when selling exploration data?

Just that really - Is there any way to avoid the CTD when selling exploration data?

I believe this is a known bug and I know the system sends in a crash report to F D each time but it is really annoying. I have tried the "cash in one system at a time" option (takes a long time) but no matter what I do, whenever I have cashed in my exploration data, when I change from that Starport Services page the game just crashes to desktop.

I've no idea, as I don't think I've had a crash recently while selling exploration data (admittedly, the last time I sold any was a couple of months ago.)

I would try, in order;

Move to another station to sell data.
Scan another couple of systems, return and repeat.
Check video drivers are up to date. Start to swear.
Reinstall game. Swear continually.
Contact support.

I have this problem too. Moving to another station has no use.
Swearing may have, it depends probably on the loudness.
At least you don't lose any data/credits.
I made tons of screenshots and all was how it should be.
It's only a bit annoying.

Just a bit more info...

This only seems to happen when the data produces First Discovered bonuses. I just did a little trip to do some refitting and this gave me some exploration data but no first discovered and sure enough on selling the data I got no CTD. [weird]

I've never had this happen, even on expeditions with First Discovered bonuses. I don't think I've ever had more than a couple million in total data, though, since I don't go on really long trips.

At one point I sold many many pages, a few months ago, ~35M at one time with no CTD. Plenty of first discovered. It is either a pretty new bug or it may only affect certain users. You could try things like compatibility modes/newer drivers/older drivers, etc...

It happened to me a couple of times last night and panicked me a bit. Sold 17 million all told.

I avoided it a third time by closing Universal Cartographics but keeping Starport services open, then going into Galnet and back out again. Once I'd done that I closed star port services and was fine.

My money was still there and I saw the first discovered bonuses so it should be ok.

Can't help worrying that my name won't be attached to those Earthlikes though.

It's bothering me a bit.
