Any way to get to my other ships without flying there myself?

Hi.
Maybe I'm just to blind to see this in the game and here in the forum (I tried some search strings but didn't find anything about this) so here my question:
Get I somehow get to one of my other ships without flying to it myself and leaving my current ship there?
I have 5 different ships and don't want to sell one of them but they are spread across different areas of the galaxy and I would like to have them together in the same system so that I can easier switch between them depending on if I like to do trading, bounty hunting etc.
And I would expect that in the 34th century the galaxy should offer some kind of "public transportation" so that I'm not always forced to travel in my own ship.
Do I miss something or did FD not yet implement this into the game (for whatever reason)?

If this feature doesn't exist yet: Does somebody know if it's planned for a future update?

Thanks in advance to everyone who is willing to provide some helpful information.

Err.. hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the answer at this time is no. You need a sidewinder to go and retrieve your other ships, as simple as that. I have heard there are rumours this may change is some way in the future. From the galactic taxi service to other forms of ship recovery.

Unfortunately as of current game, you'll have to play Shuttle. Get yourself a Sidey or Hauler and build it into a system jumper, and go get your real ship. Rinse and repeat till your actual fleet is where you want it.

Part two of your plan involves petitioning FD along with the rest of us to get cracking on a ship-delivery system.

Edit: Ninja'd all over the place.

Your best alternative is buying a cheapwinder, and use it to retrieve your ships whenever they are.
.
Upgrade only its FSD and install a Fuel scoop if needed, then go to the system where you have a ship parked, sell the cheapwinder (don't forget stripping/downgrading all modules first), and return with your precious ship.
.
Repeat for each of your stored ships.

He would be far better off buying a Hauler to act as a taxi.... but u stick the cheapwinder ... if u like :)

For some reason, in a game that takes place so many years in the future, even with the abundance space ships, stations, and such advanced technology... There is no way to pay some NPC to deliver your space ship(s) to another station.

And absolutely none of those in-universe observations have anything to do with why we don't have this as a game feature.

It's been asked many times, someway to travel without a ship, or someway to have one brought to you, hopefully it will come.
A great way to include this feature would be with the passenger missions for the orca, or Dolphin.
Charging Cmdrs for the trip. It could even encourage another profession like the fuel rats, only....

Bus boys

I tried this service, but fell asleep and missed my stop, I had to wait until we had been right around the galaxy, before seeing my stop again.

This seem to be quite a huge hole in the area of potential for game content within ED. I had though about this myself. My Asp is 25 LY away from my Type7. I want to leave my Type 7 where it is (good mining system and crappy jump drive) and go back to my Asp for combat. It would be so cool if I could:

A) Get a ticket for ride with an NPC Orca etc to my destination. I would want the flight to occur in real time. You could sit in the rear passenger seat and look out the windows and enjoy the view (not have to think about flying for once!). Or browse galnet news whilst on the journey. You could also have the risk of your flight being interdicted while on the way. This in turn could allow for different Ticket prices, with higher priced tickets having more Combat escort protecting the transport ship.....Adding to yet more game play possibilities....you could then in fact, as a human, take the role of a transport escort ship or even fly taxi mission yourself. Humans providing really useful jobs for other humans..that would be very cool.

B)Similar to the above but allow your human wing man to transport you around.

C) Also mentioned in a post above; you could have a service where an NPC can deliver a ship to your location.

So many possibilities for, the much requested, game play features in this one area alone. ED devs must be thinking about it. Maybe this is what the announcement will be? :)

I wish there was. here's two things I think could work if FD were to implement them tho. Either:
1. In game credit cost depending on how far the ship is from you to deliver the ship to your location. But this only works for ships that can land on small pads, for larger ships...
2. The player can sell their current ship at a station (/or leave it there) and pay (again depending on the distance) to take a transport like an Orca or Clipper to that location (they would be transported instantly). This would also give a nice reason for passenger missions to open up, (but only for to ferry NPCs, I couldn't see how it would work for players)

Seriously? You can tow another ship, or are you just messing around?

Towing may not be possible, but I have seen a T9 coming out of a station with a Cobra, stuck to the front of it, would be an interesting experiment to see what would happen if the T9 tried to get into super cruise.

Hopefully, when the 1st person 'walk' module is released, we can hitchhike other players in our ships, and carry them to their desired spaceport.
