Any way to make it clearer?

what are the best settings to get a clear picture? I have a 970gtx card, its a bit too grainy while playing.

Surely there must be better settings Im unaware of.

Since the screen door effect is due to the screen hardware itself, there isn't much you can do. I have heard some people having good results from opening the Rift and installing a screen protector on the display, just like you do for phones, although this varies depending on the protector quality and material itself. This will help blur the screen slightly, so it appears like the pixels blend into each other.

Although this would not help the SDE (Screen Door Effect) itself, you could look into options for trying to improve the clarity of the screen, such as making sure the Oculus Quality slider is at max, and maybe looking into super sampling options such as Nvidias DSR or AMDs recent VSR, this may help you with making the SDE appear to have less of an impact.

Any way to reduce the screen door effect?

Thanks.

I think you're just up against the hardware limitations.
Its not perfect and you can't get rid of the screen door effect entirely on the DK2. Its meant to be experimental tech for developers.....we're just choosing to use it to play Elite instead :D

super sampling on a rift and keeping 75 fps would need some power don't you think?

Yes, but it's doable. I have a pair of GTX970s and run the rift at a steady 75FPS, supersampled to 2560x1440. You do have to cut back on the graphics settings though, particularly shadows.

super sampling..... woweeee

So far so good. No stutter in asteroid field. Will turn off shadows and other things.... the difference is un freakin believable!!!
