Any way to reduce shimmer effect on Vive?

I am coming back after taking an extended break and I was wondering if the shimmer effect on the Vive with elite in VR has been addressed or if anyone has figured out a way to reduce or eliminate it? Heck i would be willing to play with no texures to just have the lines look like there was no a block flim constantly moving over them even when completely stationary.

In Elite's settings, set supersampling to at least 1.0 and HMD quality to at least 1.25 and turn on AA such as FXAA. Not all of the aliasing, which you describe as shimmering, will disappear. But it will be better. If you have a GPU that can handle supersampling and HMD quality at higher settings then you shoud see even less aliasing. But I've noticed that aliasing still exists in stations even on at 2K resolution on a 2D monitor with all settings cranked to ultra.

I have found HMD-Q to be the only tool that actually does any good in VR, especially with regards to aliasing. So mine is set to 2. This is a heavy load on my gpu (1080), only leaving room for a 0.65 setting in SS if I want to keep solid fps.
