Any way to save a power on mission if you leave by accident,

So I managed to get a power on mission that pays 8 smear campaigns. I really want those smear campaigns. Anyway I turned the power on and had put out fires in all buildings except one. I called the APEX shuttle so I could offload my full suit. I must have reached max inventory on some items as it gave me a big warning like "you will discard backpack contents. So I offload cargo into the ship then the message comes up agian. I dont care if I discard the stuff I have lots of so I click it. Big misstake, next thing I know i;m in the shuttle waving Bye bye to a completed mission and those sweet smear campaigns.

My question is, can I somehow go back and complete the mission? I know the site will reset and the power will be off again. But I have a feeling you have to have the mission specific power regulator. Or, its just occured to me, could I take another mission and use that regulator? Any help would be appreciated. The clock is ticking

It doesn't (or didn't last time I did these, anyway) have to be the mission-specific regulator, any should work.

Sadly, I report that it didnt work. I took another mission and used the power regulator from that mission. It worked, in that it fired up the generator but the mission didnt trigger. It seems that the power regulators are indeed mission specific.

They are not. I've done these kind of mission with borrowed regulators before. It is is possible the mission bugged out when you left via Taxi. I've never taxied to a mission, I always fly myself, and leaving and coming back always left the missions completable for me. Not sure what happened with yours, but it's probably not the regulator.

I never use a taxi either. There is a bug where the mission doesn't complete. You can go back and complete the mission. I always check before leaving that it says "leave to complete the mission" before leaving and that the "mission completed" shows before jumping out.

Sometimes removing and replacing the power cell will complete the mission, but I have had to relog sometimes. If you relog, beware of the fact that you might get scavengers coming in and always pull the power cell before relogging.

Yeah, that happens when your ship inventory is full and you have more stuff in your backpack. It can be a nuisance when trying to embark your ship and it won't let you (especially if you are being attacked and would want to flee with your ship as quickly as possible.)

Most likely your "assets" inventory is full because PP2 care packages give a ton of those. Your ship can only store up to 1000 of them. You can see your inventory in the ship's right panel.

I recommend always keeping a bit of space in your ship's inventory in case you ever get extra when on foot. Keep it at 950 at most, or the like. You can sell extra assets at a bartender, if you can't use them anywhere else.

The power-on missions are sometimes bugged and won't progress no matter what power regulator you use or what you do. All you can do is abandon the mission, pay the fines and move on.
